  1. Choose which material types can be set to auto-active

    We propose that the "Activate new portfolios associated with service automatically?" setting for portfolios in an electronic service be more granular. In electronic collections that contain multiple material types, we would like to be able to select which material types be activated automatically. We've found the bib records for some material types aren't as good as others, and prefer to obtain them from other sources. But for some material types, such as journals, we would like to the CZ records.

  2. Implement auto holdings for Ebsco

    Often there are many collections with Ebsco and it would be great to be able to have them on auto holding to have everything in one collection

  3. SAML authentication for patrons for Resource Sharing

    Currently, when an article or book chapter that a patron requested for has been fulfilled through resource sharing in Alma, the patron receives a document delivery notification letter informing the patron to download the requested article or book chapter. The URL link for SAML authentication for patrons requires SAML to be configured for Alma in addition to Primo VE (See support case 06050447). As Alma is intended for only library staff to login to work, I think it is best not to expose Alma's URL to patrons. Hence, I think that all patron services should be authenticated through Primo VE…

  4. Prevent portfolio loader from wiping out local coverage

    Currently, if we use a portfolio loader to update the portfolios in an electronic collection, e.g. to add a standard note in the portfolio internal description field, the loading of the portfolio loader will wipe out the local coverage in the portfolios. The local coverage will be gone but the coverage statement will remain marked "local".

    The portfolio loader I use usually contains only the two columns of ISSN (for matching), and the column of INTERNAL_DESCRIPTION (for adding the note). This is done only for SOME of the portfolios in the collection.

    The work around is to load the portfolio…

  5. Add in the electronic portfolio section the search field by: parser parameter, parser parameter (override), static url.

  6. Option to define another set of records to be included in the Database search

    The database search in Primo includes only electronic collections with collection type “database” or electronic collections with a collection level URL and an unsuppressed bibliographic record.
    Even though you can change the electronic material type of a portfolio to “database” these titles can’t be searched through the database search. This means we have to add local database collections even though the title can be activated through the community zone.
    An example is the electronic collection “De Gruyter Databases”. I should like to be able to include these in the database search.

  7. Non Auto-active collections deleted in CZ - keep active in IZ

    If there is an active collection in the IZ which is linked to the CZ but marked as non auto-active, if that collection is deleted from the CZ it should stay active and local in the IZ.
    The current scenario is that the IZ collection becomes inactive.
    The scenario should keep the collection local and active in the IZ.

  8. Add search option for Activate new portfolios associated with service automatically

    Alma Staff search options for Electronic Service fields are limited. It would be useful to quickly search for when Activate new portfolios associated with service automatically listed under the Activation tab of the Electronic Service is either blank, no or yes.

  9. Add a Community Zone filter to exclude consortial electronic collections from results

    When searching the Community Zone, would like to be able to weed out the electronic collections that are for consortia so it's easier to browse collections under certain providers. For example, searching "oxford*" produces 532 hits. A good percentage are packages for specific consortia. I assume this change would entail creating an identifier for consortial collections.

  10. Link local portfolios from IZ to CZ manually by selecting the appropriate CZ portfolio when there are multiple matches

    We have encountered many cases where there are multiple possible matches on an ISBN in a CZ collection, but those multiple matches don't actually have the same linking. This causes us to have to manually check each link one-by-one when we run the job to connect local portfolios to the CZ. It would be preferable to skip a title when running the job on the set when there are multiple matches and be able to perform a search from the individual local portfolio itself to select the appropriate CZ portfolio manually.

    I like being able to take advantage of the…

  11. POLs are not closed when Proquest Ebook Central Electronic Ressource is activated by Autoload

    We are using Autoload with Proquest Ebook Central. When we create a POL for a Proquest title and connect this POL with the portfolio which came per Autoload and pay the invoice, the POL remains in Status "Sent". It has the Activation status: Activated E-Ressource", but the warning "Electronic Resource was not activated". Now we have to go to the portfolio per the electronic portfolio search, select "Create E-activation task", then go to the electronic resources activation task list entry for this resource and select "Done" to make this alert disappear. This also closes the PO Line, but this workflow…

  13. CZ Updates Task List -- Add CDI coverage percentage updates

    When a collection is activated, sometimes the CDI is not activated as the coverage percentage is not high enough. When this percentage is updated to include more content it would be nice to be notified of this via the CZ Updates Task List.

  14. Give General Electronic Services controls to Discovery and Eresource Management Roles

    The settings for General Electronic Resources are nested in the Fulfillment Configuration menus and require the Fulfillment Administrator role. However, General Electronic Services deals with creating and displaying links based on different parameters, such as a link to a problem report form, to external link resolvers, search services like Google Scholar, and many other potential services. GES is, as I see it, fits more in Discovery Configuration (controlling what shows up for end users) or Electronic Resources Management (controlling which links for external services show up). I propose that anyone with Discovery or EResources Manager Roles should have access to…

  15. Customize CDI Activations by Resource Types

    Under the CDI tab in each electronic collection, we currently see a list of resource types that are included in the CDI database. It would be nice to have the ability to choose which of these resource types you would like activated for CDI. For example, you may want ebook results from JSTOR, but want to exclude book chapters. Another example would include removing book review results. Having such ability would allow us to curate the best selection of results for our user population and preventing the "firehose effect" of primo searches.

  16. Add portfolio or collection inventory directly within license

    We would like the ability to associate a collection or portfolio with a license record directly in the Inventory tab, rather than having to go into the collection editor or portfolio editor of the product/title and associate the license from there. When working with the license record it'd be beneficial to be able to associate a related portfolio or collection from that tab.

  17. portfolio's material type

    Add "chapter" in portfolio's material type
    Hello,
    At the moment, when creating or editing a portfolio for a chapter, it is not possible to precise that it's an chapter portfolio (you can precise that it's a book but no chapter)
    We would like to add "chapter" in Electronic Portfolio Editor > electronic material type's field.
    Best regards,
    Gianna

  18. Ability to edit a collection's Service Type after the collection has been activated

    Once a collection has been activated, there is no way to edit the service type. Sometimes we find that a collection that we thought was Full Text is actually Selective Full Text or a collection comes from the CZ incorrectly configured. It would be nice to have the ability to correct the Service Type.

  19. Correct article level target links for records without assigned volume or issue numbers

    For example, we see erroneous records (without working linking/availability) that are published ahead of print and which do not have specific volume/issue numbers. Until the publisher updates this information Primo links are directed to an error page.

  20. We hope the Electronic Operator role can use the Community Zone Updates Task List feature.

    At present, the Community Zone Updates Task List feature is only available for the three roles:
    * Repository Manager,
    * Purchasing Operator,
    * Purchasing Manager,
    These three roles have too many privileges.
    We hope the Electronic Operator role can use the Community Zone Updates Task List feature.
