Make Linking Levels in Service Record more general
The Linking Level in the service record is a hierarchy clearly designed for journals. Books are thrown in as an afterthought, and there is no room for streaming media. The hierarchy would be improved by making it independent of media type. Change the linking levels in the following way:
Change "Article" to "Article/Chapter"
Change "Article DOI" to "Article/Chapter DOI"
Change "Issue" to "Issue/Part"
Leave "Volume" the same
Combine "Journal" and "Book" into "Work (Journal/Book/Media)"
Change "Database" to "Database/Collection"
Leave "Citation" the sameThis would accommodate collections which contain streaming media, and collections which contain more than one format, such as…

Change the XML of exported portfolios
An exported portfolio from Alma looks like this:
<item type="electronic">
<title>Operations research.</title>
<title>Operations Research</title>
<issn>0030-364X</issn>
<coverage>
<from>
<year>1952</year>
<volume>1</volume>
<issue>1</issue>
</from>
<embargo>
<days_not_available>720</days_not_available>
</embargo>
</coverage>
<eissn>1526-5463</eissn>
<object_type>JOURNAL</object_type>
</item>However, that's not very clear. An ISSN element under an electronic item can be interpreted as the ISSN for the electronic publication.
A better structure would be something like this:
<item type="electronic">
<title>Operations research.</title>
<title>Operations Research</title>
<issn type="electronic">0030-364X</issn>
<issn type="print">1526-5463</issn>
<issn-l>1526-5463</issn-l>
<coverage>
<from>
<year>1952</year>
<volume>1</volume>
<issue>1</issue>
</from>
<embargo>
<days_not_available>720</days_not_available>
</embargo>
</coverage>
<object_type>JOURNAL</object_type>

Brief Record - Quick Cataloging Template
Boston College would like to see the contents of the linking tab of Electronic Portfolio Editor added to the Brief Record, Quick Cataloging template for electronic articles.
This will enable us to edit the URL and enable the proxy as we catalog and would save us the step of going in later to edit the linking information. It would also enable us to test the link before posting it, rather than using the "view it" function afterwards.

Why can we not have who activated a portfolio or collection in the history tab?
Several times I will come across a portfolio of collection and would like to be able to see who activated the resource. Since we have a history tab, why doesn't this show who activated?

Stop requiring activation of both books and journals for the Update Electronic Holdings From Elsevier job
Change the job Update Electronic Holdings from Elsevier so that it does not require both CZ collections.
Currently, you must activate two CZ collections for the Elsevier update job to work: Elsevier ScienceDirect Journals Complete and Elsevier ScienceDirect Books Complete. There is a similar job, Update Electronic Holdings for Ovid, but you do not need to activate both the journals and the books for the Ovid job.
We would like to activate the CZ collection for ScienceDirect journals only. The CZ collection for ScienceDirect books is mostly useless--the majority of the records are brief stub records. The Ovid job lets…

Ensure dynamic urls are not broken when using the new "move portfolios to a different collection" feature
When using the new "move portfolios to a different collection" feature, the list of tasks that the move will perform includes a statement that dynamic urls may be broken and must be checked individually. This makes this feature unuseable except when moving very small numbers of portfolios. Since urls are essentially the most important data element in their portfolios, we need to be able to rely on the system not breaking them when using this feature.

Post-migration portfolio urls remain even if changed afterwards
Post-migration side effect with created portfolios: the url from the bib is created in the new portfolio. This url remains in the portfolio even after it has been changed at a later date (not in an editable field; the url is also searchable even after it has been changed. So, old urls from a migrated system remain searchable and in the portfolio record even after editing. Change this behavior.

Allow search on Electronic Service values
Enable Searching for Electronic Collection Service values as well as Collection and Portfolio values
Eg Proxy Enabled (Service)
as well as
Proxy Enabled (Electronic Portfolio)
and
Proxy Enabled (Electronic Collection)60 votes -
Allow for searching by Service, Collection, and Portfolio levels distinctly
Repository searching is somewhat vague in what actually gets searched (e.g. Free field & proxy). Some fields that exist in collection & service level are searched but it is not clear in the repository search which level is being searched. Proposing the repository search is more clear in what level & field is being searched AND that the service level is able to be searched as equally as collection & portfolio levels.

Aggregator package bulk load
Need a way to connect to vendor to automatically integrate package titles into Alma. This will be very beneficial for cost and usage purposes.

Ability to assign electronic activation tasks in the POL
Electronic resources are automatically added to the Electronic Resource Activation Task List page upon ordering. The current workflow requires someone with the permission of Repository Manager to manually review the activation task list in the unassigned tab (which might have hundreds of portfolios and databases at any given time) to decide whom to assign a task.
I propose a different model or workflow: Allow Acquisitions staff to assign a task while creating the purchase order line.

portfolio acquisitions
The Acquisitions tab does not have an indication that there is information on it (dog-eared) like the other tabs. Could this be updated so that this tab accurately reflects when there is additional information on it like the other tabs?

Add Doctoral Thesis as an Electronic Material Type option
Currently there is no option for PhD thesis as an Electronic Material Type, only Masters and dissertation, Doctoral type would be a useful addition.

Add "articles" in portfolio's material type
Hi there,
At the moment, when creating or editing a portfolio for an artcile, it is not possible to precise that it's an article's portfolio (you can precise that it's a book, map, journal, dissertation, proceeding...).
We would like to add "articles" in Electronic Portfolio Editor > electronic material type's field.
Please see screenshot attached for illustration.
Best regards,
Ariane

Display Electronic Collection name and Interface name in local portfolio list
I have a local record and a CZ record for a journal. My PO and notes are all attached to the local record. In the new UI, when I click “Electronic” for the CZ record, the Collection Names display. In the local record, I can fill in the interface name, but not the collection name if it was a migrated title. I can only see the Electronic Collection name if it was filled in on Alma when creating the portfolio. The interface name will not display in the search results list at all. I can only see it if I…

Make View it the default tab when viewing electronic items
Currently when viewing items you can set the electronic & physical tabs to expand by default. However the 'View It' tab/option is hidden in the menu. We don't need to see the portfolios we hold at a glance, we need to be able to view and access the item and it's holdings.
Please add 'View It' to the list of tabs and to the expand options, so we can see what we hold at a glance and have access to it without needing to search for the menu button.
If you could add the holding information for when we only…

Allow data from the POL notes to inform/be inherited by the portfolio notes.
Our Acquisitions process currently allows for receiving e-book purchase option information (platform and use model) from a vendor via POL notes. We would like this information to be inherited by the e-inventory in the notes field of the portfolio. There is currently no way to get that information out of the POL, and it is needed in the porfolio to streamline workflows.

Upload electronic holdings job: Add vendor's name information
The name of the vendor is missing in the "Upload electronic holdings job" report.
We can only see the name of the integration type.
To identify the vendor, we have thus to remember the name of the vendors concerned by this integration profile (at this time, Elsevier or Ovid) and the date of the processing job.
As new integration profiles are planned for other vendors (Proquest, Springer,...), this will be no more manageable.
Thus, we would like to see the vendor name in all useful places (reports, "Monitor job" page, "Scheduled job status")37 votes -
Include rolling dates in local date information field
As an electronic resource librarian, I would like to see a better way to deal with rolling coverage dates. There does not seem to be a good way to deal with gaps in portfolio coverage when there's a moving target date involved. For example, if a title includes perpetual access from 2011-present, and issues 12 years or older are open access, unless you include a public note, what will display is:
Available from 2011 volume: xx issue: xx
Most recent 12 year(s) not availableThis is confusing to patrons and librarians alike. It would be useful to have the option…
