  1. User Registration Terms of Use - Have expiration dates be able to set from the calendar

    When creating TOU for User Registration, we should have the ability, much like with due dates in Fulfillment, to set the expiration date to not only various amounts of time, but to a calendar date. We have some patrons who end their privileges at the end of the semester, and it would be very helpful.

  2. Allow for including a block note when batch adding blocks through run a job

    Blocks can currently be added to a set of users through the Update/Notify User job; however, a note cannot be included. When placing holds manually, the option exists to include a note. When the note is essential to the block, we currently have to enter each block manually instead of using the job. Including the ability to enter a note in the batch job would save an immense amount of staff time.

  3. Automatically attach the circulation desk that I choose in role creation.

    When you are assigning any roles that require a circulation desk attached, you have us choose the desk, select it, and then attach it. Why can you not just use the one I select and remove the attach step?

  4. User Group fee

    I would like it to be possible for a fee to be added to a user record when a certain user group is selected, eg.Postal Loans. The patrons are not imported with this user type - it is changed when they make the request to receive loans by post. There is currently no functionality that allows a fee to be added automatically when a new User group is manually selected.

  5. Permit only public notes in patron files

    According to Swiss Data Protection Laws, all notes in a patron file have to be viewable by the patron.

    As consequence, we want either:
    - Only have public notes in the patron file. Non public notes do not exist. This may be an option that can be activated or deactivated by administrators.
    Or:
    - The User Viewable attribute is ticked by default. Again, this may be activated or deactivated by administrators.

  6. Could we have dates showing the actual month, not represented numerically?

    Many of our students can't work out when their items are due, maybe due to the increasing use of the US dating format, so they don't know if 4/10/16 is the 4th of October or the 10th of April. Using the actual months would decrease the confusion.

  7. Preserve the Expire Date if changed manually

    Similar to how the user group field can be preserved and not overwritten by an update to user data if it has been changed manually, it would be beneficial for the expiry date field to be treated in the same way so that if the date is changed manually it will not be overwritten by a data synchronization. This would allow staff to manage patrons locally within Alma when an external data source is unreliable.

  8. Make Paying Fines/Fees-Waiving Fines/Fees a separate User Role in Alma and remove them from other roles

    The auditors at our institution require us to limit the number of staff members who have this ability. We had to ask Ex Libris to remove PAYFINESFEES PRIVILEGE and WAIVEFINESFEES_PRIVILEGE from a large number of roles, most of which didn't even relate to fulfillment responsibilities during our implementation.

    Our Student Assistants and Operators at the Circulation Desks should not have these privileges. But they did before we had them removed.

    Approving Manager and Operator, Producer Manager, User Manager, Editor Full, Assessing Manager and Operator, Arranging Operator and Manager are all roles that I don't understand, and…

  9. option to "Send Return Receipt" from "Return items"

    When I'm returning books from the drop box, using "Return Items", I would really appreciate the option to "Send Return Receipt" in cases where the patron has accrued fines. It makes sense from a customer service standpoint - rather than the fine eventually going to billing (and adding the billing fee) without ever letting the patron know that they owe a fine. This is similar to the last idea posted, but subtly different, so I thought I'd go ahead and suggest this.

  10. Alma user mgmt: Ability to add role profiles to a set of users

    Currently you can add roles to a set of users as per http://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/KnowledgeArticles/Howtoaddaroletoagroupofusers%3F. However, if you want to add multiple roles you have to run the job multiple times and potentially for different scopes each time.

    It would useful to be able to apply role profiles to a set of users, as you can predefine many roles in a profile.

  11. Proxy/Principal User Search

    (I'm not sure the best term, so I'm using "principal" to refer to the person a proxy is acting on behalf of)

    It's possible to view a list of principal patrons that a patron is a proxy for from within the proxy's user record (the "Proxy For" tab).

    It's not possible to view or search for patrons that are proxies to a principal patron.

    Examples:
    1) Alice and Bob are known proxies for Chad.
    I can open the Proxy For tab for Alice and Bob, where Chad will be listed for both.

    2) Chad has several proxies, but it's uncertain…

  12. SIS - Save Rejected records in XML format for re-load

    Currently rejected records from the SIS batch upload process are only identified in the event log. It would be very useful if the rejected records were saved to a separate file in XML format. This would allow for easier re-load once the load error is resolved.

  13. Add options to retain manually-added (internal) information when toggling a record to external user

    Currently, notes (and other internal fields) disappear from internal patron records after toggled to external patron records. Per support documentation https://developers.exlibrisgroup.com/alma/integrations/user-management and testing, this is intended behavior in Alma based on assumptions made and imposed by the system. As a community college, we have many students who leave school for some time and become community users and then enroll again after a period of time. Many community members also become students, staff or faculty. In order not to lose the vital internal information, we have to do time-consuming work arounds.

  14. Make patron info updateable in Primo flag more granular

    Currently the only control on allowing patrons to update info via Primo is either on or off:

    Would like the ability to say for example only Visitors user group can update info via Primo.

  15. Patron contact info - more fields?

    Adding discretionally more fields (i.e. city, see city.jpg) to the fields displayed in the user details - contact info panel
    (see user_details.jpg for the fields available at now...) would be a great thing...:=)

  16. a specific type of "User notes" shown under "notes" tab

    Currently, all user notes (which can be added manually) are hidden behind the "notes" tab (which can't be manually added), as shown in the attachment. It would be great if a specific type of "user notes"(for example, circulation notes) could be listed under "notes" tab, so that those notes will be more obvious to desk staff.

  17. Change role attributes via SIS batch load

    I would like to be able to change user role information (roles status, expiration date, delete or add a role) via the Student Information System external integration batch uploads. Currently, user roles can only be modified manually in the UI or with an API call.
