    Could the General Mail facility be amended to allow staff to add attachments to an email sent to a patron via the USer Management screen?

  2. Please leave me signed in at my library.

    There is no point in timing us out of our specific library. It is super annoying to come back to my desk and find that ALMA has kicked me out of my library and that I have to select it again---the only library in the list of options, btw, making it pointless for me to "choose a library" in the first place. There's only one! Please turn that off. It is a bug, not a feature of the program.

  3. Ability for Alma Administrators to create special menu bars for staff users.

    It would be nice for our Alma Administrators to have some control over what each staff member sees on their menu bar or at least to be able to hide the configuration wheel from non-administrators. This would prevent some confusion staff members have when seeing options they do not have the privileges for, then telling us "it's not working." It would also allow us to create more simplified views for our student workers. Accidental menu customization done by staff is another problem we have. We have to try to figure out what they did in order to get their menu…

  4. Users remove blocks

    It would be usefull for an operator to delete selected blocks in the tab block of an user card in the same way of fines/fees, marking them and delete them in one go.
    This idea because the operators can't run the job "Users - Remove Blocks".

    We think especially at those libraries where users are not always on time to return books and deleting them individually it's a waste of time.
    it is not nice to delete blocks one by one.
    It would be better if the operator could mark blocks and delete them in one go.

  5. Display all roles on a user's record at the same time

    Only 20 roles display at a time on a user's record.

    For users with more than 20 roles assigned to their record, give the option to display all roles at the same time.

    If you edit a role to add a desk, and that role exists on page 2 of the role list, it will "refresh" the display so that you're back on page 1 of the role list. You then have to scroll down the record and page forward again if you want to go back to the place you were.

  6. Dynamically create statistical category and type specified in the user xml notice imported from SIS

    The user.xsd xml shema contains statistical category an type description.

    <category_type desc="Code SISE">

    </category_type>
    </user_statistic>

    However, when imported from SIS, il the category and type in a user.xml file imported from SIS does not already exist in Alma configuration tables, it is not imported in the statitistical type specified.

    In the example below, category 4200013 and its description STAPS, type BSISE and its description Code SISE required to have been already created in Alma configuration tables.

    If its not the case, the category 420003 is imported with NO type
    and no description.

  7. Make Notes/Blocks tabs more noticeable

    When users have blocks or notes attached to their account, it would be helpful if the tab changed colour or had a red exclamation mark icon in the corner. This would alert members of staff immediately if there was something on the account that needed to be seen, i.e information about disability arrangements, reasons why a user is blocked, fine payment arrangements etc.

    Currently the folded blue tab in the corner, meant to indicate that there is information in that space, makes the Notes/Blocks tabs just blend in with the rest.

    Making Notes/Blocks tabs more noticeable would mean important and…

  8. Give institutions the ability to have local versions of user roles

    We have just gone live and I'm setting up accounts for our liaison librarians. I'd like to create a copy of the Purchase Request Operator role to use with liaisons. I'd like fewer permissions than the canned version but I can't have ExL edit the current one because other staff need the role as it is currently. I think we should be able to make a local version of a user role that can then be edited without changing the canned user role. That or just let us keep the Selector role so I can have that edited.

  10. Make the "General Mail" feature more customizable

    On the "User Details" screen in Alma, there is a "Send Message" function. If "General Mail" is selected, any message that is composed shows up as "ILLEMAILTOUSERlongstringofnumbers" under the user's Attachment tab. Unlike other letters, this is saved as a "text/plain" type, requiring the file to be downloaded before it can be viewed. It would be nice if this attachment type could be renamed, or given a more descriptive title than "ILLEMAILTO_USER," especially as it is generated from within the User Details screen and not via Resource Sharing or ILL.

  11. Add signatures to 'General mail' messages (via User Details screen)

    When sending 'General mail' messages via the User Details screen, would it be possible to have a facility to create/select signatures?

    It's not a biggie but would save a bit of time and effort entering information that needs to go on many messages.

  12. Password reset

    It would be beneficial to all users to have a "Forgot your password?" link on the login page to get a reminder via e-mail, or be able to reset your password. This current system of having it completely controlled by the administrator is antiquated and needs to be replaced.

  14. Allow administrators to change the labels on Alma terminology.

    Allow relabeling of field tags, such as changing CHRON I to YEAR, and ENUM A to VOLUME. Let libraries have the flexability to use the terminalogy that they prefer.

  15. Batch update of role expiry dates via the UI

    Batch update of role expiry dates via the UI.

    We have hundreds of student staff who have expiry dates on their roles (see attached for an example). Every semester, we have to manually edit each and every role for every student. This process would be so much easier if we could choose multiple roles and then batch update the expiry date.

  16. Add address parameters to update/notify user job

    We are a library in an institution that has one library but several locations/physical campuses. The students order material in Primo, and we send material from the library to the students by post (internal system) to their location.

    The issue is that our SIS (Student information system) does not seperate the students by locaton, and does not offer any indication to where the stuydent is located in the user profile import to Alma. As it is, we have no possibility to see whether a student is located at the same campus as the library or at one of the others.

  17. Manual Deleting of User (Patron) records and need for consistency in maintaining reportable data

    At present Alma has an inconsistent method of maintaining reportable patron data when a user record is deleted. The reality is that the policies established by an institution (to keep fully reportable, or keep statistics, or fully remove) do not apply when a patron record is manually deleted - ie. Deleted in: Administration > User Management > Find and Manage Users.

  19. Login via code in addition to the link for the E-Mail Authentication

    Today the E-Mail Authentication only has the option of logging the user in via a link in the E-Mail. This restricts the user to logging in on a computer where they have an e-mail client of which excludes most kiosk solutions and makes it a hassle if the user usually uses their e-mail on for example their phone but uses Primo on another computer.

  20. Automatically add new user statistical categories as they are imported via the SIS integration

    As a system administrator I want any new statistical category codes used in the student file import to be added to the table as they appear in the file. Voyager previously added the code and then a system administrator could add the description to match.
