  1. Notify when a title (esp. electronic portfolio) chosen in a Leganto reading list is deleted in Alma

    Especially when dealing with electronic titles, for example when importing them, Alma may delete some portfolios.
    However, researchers may have previously selected these portfolios for their Leganto reading list. But nobody would notice that, until the students find a broken link in Leganto.

    To avoid that right now we perform a manual check, relying on an Analysis looking for Electronic Titles selected for reading lists before running the import, and comparing that with the list of deleted portfolio we have when the import is finished. It's however time consuming.

  2. Calendar management reminders

    Would be good to get a reminder when standard opening hours "valid to" date is about to end.

    We had a hard time understanding why interlibrary books borrowed at one of our libraries got very short due dates.
    It is impossible to remember to update the standard opening hours every 3 year. Also a valid time of 3 years is very short for standard opening hours, it should be longer or not have a limit at all.

  3. Ex Libris should use an online calendar for Alma, Primo, etc. release dates that can be subscribed to in popular calendar software

    Ex Libris posts the Alma release schedule (for prod, sandbox, etc.) at https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Release_Notes/010_2019/Alma_Release_Schedule_-_2019

    This is great, but what would be even more useful is an online calendar that I can subscribe to in my calendar program of choice (MS Office 365, Apple Calendar app, etc.).

    Even better - separate calendars for Alma, Primo, and other products that list release dates. As dates change, the calendar is automatically updated, etc.

    This would be a great timesaver for System Admins who need to coordinate library work to avoid release windows, etc.

  4. Avoid patrons from visiting the Alma top page

    We found that there is a timing when internal users would access the Alma top page.
    In the following case:

    If an internal user attempts to log in to Primo VE after his ID has expired, he will not be authorized.
    If he attempts to reset his password, it will be failed too, but it will take him to the Alma login page.

    On the “The user is not authorized in Alma”screen, we suggest that each institution can choose whether to make the text (“Return to login page”) clickable or not.

  5. Send emails from different addresses using conditional logic for addressfrom in the XSL template

    We want to set up an expiring user email in the user notification letter for the update user job. However it needs to come from different email addresses dependent on the users campus. So that the user can reply directly to the campus library. It would be helpful if you could use conditional logic on the addressfrom tag in the XSL template section of the letter configuration to do this.

  6. Change "Orders" link to improve user accessibility

    The "Orders" link that appears in the title information after a repository search needs to be improved to address accessibility concerns. Currently, the only "clickable" part of the link is the small number beside the shopping cart and 'Orders' icon. Please consider making this link bigger or the entire shopping cart - orders - and number be "clickable". This would make it accessible for people who have fine motor challenges, as it is difficult to get the mouse to a very small piece of clickable text.

  7. Allow for the updating of license terms using scripts or spreadsheets.

    Currently all updating in licenses is a manual process. To add or reorder terms has to be done manually and to add a new term to existing license has to be done manually. Wouldn't it be nice for either type of updating to be achieved via a script or spreadsheet? For managing terms, it would be great to export the existing terms to a spreadsheet, make changes and then upload the new terms order and organization.   8. Add multiple Central catalog integration profile with the enable/disable button

    The background:

    To add the backup CALIS path (or host) to the integration profile. When the primary CALIS host failed, the library admin can switch the profile quickly instead of modifying the configuration directly to avoid any misconfig.

    Request:

    It will pop up an error when adding another or multiple Central catalog integration profile to Alma. So we would suggest to add multiple Central catalog integration profile with the enable/disable button, so we could choose and enable the backup host quickly when the primaiy host failed.

  9. add additional reporting in payment confirmation job report

    In the payment confirmation jobs report, add the ability to see which items had their status changed to paid and closed.

    For comparison, if you look at the report we get when we send invoices for payment, there are three events that list everything in the file:

    Failed while generating invoice XML
    Failed to move invoice on workflow
    Invoice processed successfully

    If you click on "invoice processed successfully", it lists the invoice number and the price. We would like to see something similar with the payment confirmation job.

  10. Homepage notifications in Alma

    It should be possible to choose specific times for publication of homepage notifications and also which roles see them in Alma.
    Now all staff see all notifications and the notifications can't be prepared in advance.
    Would be good to be able to show different ones for ordinary staff and student workers for example.

    It would be a nice improvement, if you only had to click once to refine your search in Alma instead of now, where you have to dobbeltclick.

    Facetting: to display the current publishing year at the top and not at the end of the list. The librarian should descide if he wants the Facetting of the YEAR shown from.
    In our library its Always the most recent published books we are interessted in.

  14. Alma RSS feed shouldn't be limited to physical items set

    The RSS feature in Alma provides a feed to Primo, identifying new items published or added to the inventory. Currently, it seems that RSS Publishing is limited to PHYSICAL items (as mentioned in the documentation), and that that newly activated portfolios or electronic collections cannot be taken into account and included in a set. It matters a lot to us that RSS Publishing is effective for physical items and electronic portfolios

  15. Improve Navigation to Allow Switching Between Tasks

    There should be a way to quickly move between tasks in Alma without having to start from scratch. If I'm in a user record and go search for an item barcode, I should be able to get back to the user record in a single click, without having to search again. WMS provides this functionality and it's really helpful. Essentially breadcrumbs that track ones work in the system so you can quickly pull up something you were working on even hours before.

  16. Alma display no longer dims when busy

    Eliminate the dimming of the display when Alma is busy and just use the rotating wheel icon by itself. I have vision problems AND a seizure disorder and the constant dimming and un-dimming of the screen as I work makes it very hard to focus, causes headaches and other problems.

  18. Use non-LC call numbers for journal categories

    This affects Primo/PrimoVE; but the job is in Alma.

    The new feature (as of Nov 2019) to browse a list of journals by category depends on the 050$a. This should be expanded to use the 055$a, 060$a, 070$a, 080$a, 082$a, 083$a, 084$a, 085$a, and 086$a. Additionally, libraries should be able to pick which of the subfields to use.

    This is an example of the lack of support for non-LC libraries.

    We would like to add a filter of barcode or call-number into the result page of a itemized set page, so they could locate and remove the dedicated item from the result quickly. The Filtering Sets function is not efficient to locate and remove single item from the result of a set, for more information, please see the attached screenshot. Thanks.
