  1. Easier Toggling Between Modules

    Add the ability the quickly toggle between commonly used modules, like check-in and manage patron services. OCLC's WMS does this very well and allows a much faster workflow.

  2. Enhance Report to ExLibris ticket fields within Alma

    Enhance the Report To ExLibris form in Alma with the following so that it matches the tickets submitted via SalesForce:
    Contact Name field: defaults to whomever is logged in/made the default contact if there is no match. Ex: if Person B is logged into Alma and is configured to report from Alma, they are the default when submitting a problem, not Person A (which is currently listed first because its an alphabetical listing). This would help staff to submit tickets faster and without having to go into SalesForce after submitting to change the name.

  3. Search History For All Categories

    There is a history of searches for "All titles" in Alma.
    It can be cool to have a history for other types of searches such as:
    "Order lines", "Invoices" and etc.

  4. Please reduce overall number of clicks

    One huge disadvantage of Alma is its very click intensive ui. It is very hard to point out all sections where I'd like to see 'straighter' user guidance. I think, it is a general problem in working with Alma.

    Please, please, please add more keyboard shortcuts and think about how you can reduce clicking in Alma.

  5. Column size

    Make it so that column width is dictated by content in the columns, with text wrapping where needed. though maybe with a character restriction on the title field.

    I'm consistently losing columns i need because they shrink in size when i try to expand nearby columns.

    *since i can tell alma which columns are helpful, it would make sense that all the columns that are helpful will be visible.

  7. Allow customisation of locations assigning different colours

    As working across different teams it is necessary to switch constantly from one location to another with the possibility to forget to select the appropriate one. Allowing the customisation of the locations assigning a different colour to the layout of each would help avoid this oversight. Moreover it would make feel users in control of locations with no need to constantly check if they are working in the correct environment.

  8. Migration Configuration Menus

    During the migration process, it is sometimes difficult to know what to ask about when looking for help from our migration specialists. Furthermore, following documentation can sometimes be confusing when it leads you to a menu that is not only unavailable, but also invisible. If these menus can be made either "read-only" until an institution receives their Alma Certification, or if the link to the menu can be visible (but not clickable), that will assist in future migrations.

  9. Allow options for how items act when checked out during an "exception-closed" in the Alma Calendar

    Allow option for how items act when check out occurs during closed hours (not focusing on due back time). During weeks like spring break, we set an exception that we are closed so our week long/3 week long book check outs will not come due that week to account for students possibly leaving campus. This means when we try to check out hourly items during spring break, they are due back immediately since they were checked out during a closed period. We cannot adjust the due time for hourly items checking out during that week properly without deleting the exceptions…

  10. keyboard shortcuts for "done" and "exit" especially

    Alma is extremely rough on the carpal tunnel because of having to make so many clicks. There should be keyboard shortcuts for everything possible, but especially for "Done" and "Exit," and for all the routine tasks of Fulfillment.

  11. Enable Alma to communicate IP changes to vendors

    When the university adds or removes an IP range, the library has to contact many e-resource vendors, often one by on,e to ensure that access via IP remains accurate. Add a functionality in Alma to allow libraries to contact all vendors at once with updated IP information, so we don't have to use a separate service like RedLink or IP Registry.

    It would be helpful if there were a tool that lets you enter/select every task across all modules that you want the user to have access to, and then it will give you a suggestion of which permissions/roles would be most appropriate to assign them.

  13. Custom hot keys for Quick Links items

    Have hot keys / keyboard short cuts for the Quick Links items. For example Alt + 1,2,3, etc. depending on the order of the items on the top bar. That way you can add quick links to the functions you use the most, and then have keyboard short cut to that function.

  17. Notify when a title (esp. electronic portfolio) chosen in a Leganto reading list is deleted in Alma

    Especially when dealing with electronic titles, for example when importing them, Alma may delete some portfolios.
    However, researchers may have previously selected these portfolios for their Leganto reading list. But nobody would notice that, until the students find a broken link in Leganto.

    To avoid that right now we perform a manual check, relying on an Analysis looking for Electronic Titles selected for reading lists before running the import, and comparing that with the list of deleted portfolio we have when the import is finished. It's however time consuming.

  18. Strip incompatible characters from patron feed before processing

    Our IT department occasionally produces a patron load XML that contains small amounts of non-ascii characters. Currently a single character in a Brazilian mailing address, for example, stops the entire load. I think the behavior should be that any unrecognized character needs to be stripped out by Exlibris so the rest of the SYNCHRONIZE job can proceed, and the locations of the stripped out characters should end up in a warning.

  19. Add First Name/Last Name fields to Staff Login Report

    Please add more fields to the Staff Login Report to help identify the staff in the list. At the moment it only reports out Primary ID which is just a staff number at my institution.

    To be able to use the report more easily and effectively we need First Name and Last Name fields in the report.

    Other fields could potentially be useful to some institutions such as User Group and Job Description.

  20. Physical item count on home page

    Please add a widget option to the home page that displays a simple current count of physical items. I should not have to create an analysis to get this basic information.
