  1. option to delete bib when relinking physical inventory

When relinking electronic inventory, a pop up occurs asking what to do with the bib (nothing, delete if no other holdings, or suppress).

It would be a time saver to have the same pop up when relinking physical inventory

  2. Ability to see inventory of matched records in 'Side by Side Matching'

It would be very helpful to be able to see the inventory for matched records in 'Side by Side Matching' when working on records with import issues. Currently, it's necessary for me to have Alma open in a second browser and search for each matched title to see which collection the title belongs to, which then influences my decision on how to deal with the new record. This is shown if there is more than one match, but it would be great if it was shown for single matches as well.

  3. Different authority icon

In authority control instead of having the looking glass icon, an icon that indicated the heading was Full or not would be better.

  4. Task list customization

Currently, the task list is automatically configured based on user roles. However, there are many features assigned to a role in Alma that a user may not actually deal with. For example, as electronic resources manager, I do not need to see print order lines to claim for print titles. This is particularly an issue because other departments do not always use the task list in their workflow, so mine can become cluttered with their content. We would like additional customization to be available within the task list, so that we only see relevant tasks.

  5. Fuzzy match method is creating too many duplicates with import profiles.

Fuzzy match between author and title is checking too many subfields in MARC-field 100. I.e. 100 $a Øverland, A. O. $d 1855-1911 $q Ole Andreas is matched against 100 $a Øverland, A. O. $d 1855-1911 and is considered not the same person, it seems. When the record also has title in 245 $a which are exactly the same, it is consdered a "not match" and a new record is imported. I would like to suggest that only subfield 100 $a is checked. 245 $a should be checked together with $n and $p. In addition i would like to have 250…

  6. Conversion job for any part of the record to any other part

    Hello,
It would be nice if there was a job of conversion of every part of a record (bib, hol, item, portfolio) into another part, for example:
    Bib records into Items
    Bib records into Holdings
    Bib records into Portfolios
    Bib records into Orders
    Items into Bib records
    Items into Holdings
    Orders into Bib records
    Orders into items
    Orders into Portfolios
    Portfolios into Bib records
    Portfolios into Orders
This way, we will not be limited by the search for any job.
For example, we would be able to search Bib records, convert the set into items and run a job for…

  7. Textual holdings statement fields 866-868

Currently, you are only able to search the 866 field in Alma and Analytics. To record holdings more accurately, the 867 (supplemental material) and 868 (indexes) should be used. We have data stored in these fields and are unable to search/report on them easily. We would like the 867 and 868 fields to be searchable and perhaps even indexed in Alma, and reportable in Analytics. Reporting on any standard MARC field should be possible in both Alma and Analytics.

Hello. What is the reason for not doing this as follows?
Add the 866 – 868 as local fields for Alma Analytics Holdings Records. Each institution is allowed up to 10 holdings fields and 10 bibliographic fields as local fields.
Further, as described at https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Knowledge_Articles/Add_bibliographic_fields_to_Alma_Analytics it is possible to have subfield delimiters in the local fields added to Alma Analytics.
So you can already have 866 subfield x and z (for example) in Alma Analytics using existing functionality.

  8. Translate Titles to Items set job

We'd like the ability to truly 'itemize' a set of All Titles / Physical Titles i.e. translate a set of titles uploaded from MMS IDs into a set on which we could run the Change Physical Items job. Many times we want to add an Internal note at the item level to a set, but we can't to sets that have been uploaded as Titles (except to add a local 9**, report on it the next day in analytics, export that report, excise the barcodes, and re-upload a set at the Item level - ridiculous!).
    A smoother flexibility between Title…

  9. Allow full customisation of the keyword index

Since every institution has a different idea of what constitutes a "key" word, we would greatly appreciate the ability to customise the keyword index for ourselves. A table to allow us to add and remove MARC fields and subfields would be in keeping with much of Alma's back office design.

  10. Ability to edit records during import when manual handling required

During the import of records, we sometimes get the "Manual Handling Required" notice, from which we can view the record in question as well as its error.

On that screen you can view the record and we have often found that only a small fix is needed to correct the error, and would be best done at this point in the process rather than getting the original file, making a change, and either reloading the whole thing or extracting the one file to fix and reload it alone.

It would be nice if, along with the ability to simply view…

  11. Import Profiles - Match Profile add 028 - Publisher or Distributor Number to one of the match methods

When loading records via import profiles it would be great to be able to match on the 028 - Publisher or Distributor Number. Could this be added to one of the match methods currently available or added as a new match method>

  12. Add 583 to the search index or the general Notes search index

The bib 583 note is not index and therefore is not searchable in Alma unless we copy the field to a 9XX field. Please either add it to the general Notes search index or create is own Action note index.

  13. Add additional text in Metadata Editor - Holdings Form

When editing a holdings-record in Metadata Editor when using the holdings form, we would like to see additional text added to the field information to inform the cataloger about which MARC-field they're editing.

For example, when editing the field "Location" there is no information about which MARC-field this belongs to in the record. There should be an additional text next to the field name saying either (MARC-field X/Subfield X) or (XXX $X).

  15. Results from "Browse Shelf Listing" and "Browse Bibliographic Headings" searches should be exportable

When you do a search using "Browse Shelf Listing" and "Browse Bibliographic Headings", the results show up in an editor that does not give you the option to export the search results. The results from these searches are hard (or impossible) to replicate using a search or analytics.

  17. Add the NOT Boolean operator to the Advanced Search in Alma

Advanced Search in Alma contains currently only AND and OR Boolean operators - it would be very useful to have the NOT operator included, so that we can exclude particular records from Logical Sets, rather than creating 2 Logical sets and then combining them with NOT, resulting always in an Itemized set.

  18. Show orders and requests in repository search regardless of role

Every staff member should be able to see if there are orders or requests for a title regardless of their roles.
It's important e.g. for staff at info/circulations desks to see why a title without items is found - as well as for receiving operators to see if there are any patron physical item requests...

Still, of course, one should only be able to edit orders or requests with the respective privilege.

  19. Add 017 field (subfields a, b) in the search index.

Currently this field (Copyright or Legal Deposit Number) is not indexed in MARC 21 Bibliographic Tag to Search Index Mapping. Would you please add it so that it?

  20. Expandable "Text Box" in Resource Management (cataloging side)

Allow to adjust or expand the "Text Box" in fields in item record.

For instance, in Internal Note Fields, Often time staff needs to add further more information into these fields. Though staff can keep adding content in the fields, but the Text Box stays the same. A lot of time, staff needs to move cursor around, in order to see all dataentry for that particular field.

If the developer can make 'Text Box' expandable at our need, that will save a lot of trouble.
