  1. Cost Per Use *by fund* Report for Electronic Collections (Databases)

Problem: We are looking for a way to run a cost usage report by fund that includes titles with the PO Line Type ‘Name of Electronic Collection - Subscription.’

Description: Our library evaluates cost per use of all serials by fund. We have been able to run a cost per use report by fund for our print and electronic journals. We run into a roadblock, however, when we try to generate a report on the cost/use of a database by fund.

The E-Inventory Cost Usage report includes all titles with the PO Line Type Name of ‘Electronic Journal -…

  3. Ex Libris to create Custom Labels in Alma Analytics reports for Platform Prompts and Analyses

For Usage reports, it's not always clear which publishers are associated with certain Platform names. For SUSHI harvested data, please consider applying Custom Labels to report Analyses and Prompts.

This would be especially useful for American vendor platforms (lots of them have the acronym APS), Oxford platform, Ovid platform, Springer Nature platforms, and SAGE e.g.

aip = American Institution of Physics (AIP)
APS = American Physical Society (APS)
APS Journals = American Phytopathological Society (APS)

Ovid has a multitude of platforms. Would like a custom label applied to these so they display as one platform e.g. OCE, OvidSP, Ovid Insights,…

  4. Fix Analytics request creator field to stop it changing to Alma staff primary ID when request cancelled on Alma

When a user places a request on Primo, the ‘creator’ field in the Analytics requests table shows as ‘System’. When a request is placed by a staff member on Alma, the staff member’s primary ID shows in the creator field.

If a request placed by a user on Primo is subsequently cancelled by a staff member on Alma, the creator field changes from System to the staff member’s primary ID. This means reporting on requests placed on Primo vs. requests placed by staff members on Alma is not accurate and the field is misleading (creator should refer only to creator).

  5. Add Related Record MARC fields 76X thru 78X to Analytics

Library personnel would like to be able to generate a list of titles and related records in Analytics so as to document title changes, facilitate research and scholarly discovery and develop research guides for use within the institution. At this time, the 76X and 78X fields that are used to display various related record types in Primo VE are not currently indexed in Analytics. Rather than use up the limited number of bibliographic local param fields available – which would still not allow for full reporting on related records – our institution proposes that the aforementioned fields and associated data…

  6. In Analytics allow an option to split ISBNs into single entries in one column

At present we get all the ISBNs attached to a record in one cell separated by a semicolon. A function that would allow for the string to display in one column but as separate cells would allow for easier processing once exported to Excel.

At present the layout displays as

    Title: Author : ISBN1;ISBN2;ISBN3:

What would help is to have the option to switch to

    Title: Author: ISBN1:
    Title: Author: ISBN2:
    Title: Author: ISBN3:

This would mean using functions such as V lookup could be performed far more smoothly.

  7. Customization for labels on locally defined LOCAL PARAM subject areas

Our library requested to have a LOCAL PARAM defined in Alma Analytics. We asked ExLibris to map the 983 field to this field in Analytics so that we could easily run reports using information in this field. However, it is not currently possible to modify the label so as to easily remember/know that this field has been locally defined. Also, as we define more fields, it becomes cumbersome to know which field belongs to which mapped field.

  8. Add "physical items" to Course Reserves Subject area

Since all course reserves circulation times are location-based we NEED to be able to select temporary location when creating a course reserves analytics set. It does me no good to get a list of all items on reserve and the associated courses if I can't report out WHAT the circulation times were. It would also be helpful to be able to measure loans from the Course Reserves Subject Area, since the Fulfilment Subject Area won't allow you to put the associated professor. It makes it impossible to get a comprehensive Course Reserves Analytics report that is of any use. It…

  9. loan status / item process changes in a date range

We would like to be able to run reports detailing the dates when a loan status / item process type change was made over a certain time period e.g. loan status changed to 'lost' between 1/10/2019 and 1/11/2019. Using the item modification date is not the perfect criteria as this date will change when any modification is made to the item e.g. adding a note etc

  10. Pause Analytics Object Subscriptions

Have an easy way to pause emails for reports sent out through Alma Analytics Object subscriptions. Some of our reports are sent every day, and it would be nice to pause during our winter break when we won't have any need for daily report emails.

  11. Expose 'Export to Worldcat' management tag to Analytics

We would like to be able to access the 'Export to Worldcat' management tag in analytics, in the same way we can access the 'Suppress from Discovery' management tag. This would allow us to gather records for which the Export tag has been set incorrectly, and use a job to Republish them to OCLC.

  12. Add Last Loan Date to Fulfillment subject area in Analytics

It is great that the Last Loan Date is available in the Physical Items area in Analytics. However, to create more complex circulation reports which include aspects such as Renewals one needs to use the Fulfillment subject area. It would be useful to have the variable in both places.

  13. Enhanced reporting on alma logins

Provide additional reporting for alma logins.

    Required for data protection reporting,

Events that need to be monitored (e.g. logon, failed logon, access to sensitive files, copying/modifying or deleting a senstive file, concurrent logons from different workstations using the same user id). These should include, as a minimum, user id, type of event, date and time of event, success or failure indication

  14. Analytics: Make Holding Suppressed from Discovery field values Yes/No instead of 0/1

The bib "suppressed from discovery" field uses values of Yes/No. The holdings field should do the same.

  15. Subject Area "Alma Jobs" for Analytics

At the moment it is not possible to (easily) get data from the jobs running in Alma. The exports that can be pulled from "Monitor Jobs" are rather useless as they hardly contain data.
If I want numbers of processed records, runtimes etc. I have to use the API and still need to do a lot of manual work on that results.
It would be great to have a subject area in Analytics that cointains all the information from the "Job Report".

  16. Add catalogation date field

Actually we have only a Title modification date. This is used for catalogation date (after acquisition) and any other subsequent modifcation. If any modification we lose and miss the original catalogation date. We need a "Title catalogation date" field to preserve the original catalogation date after Receiving date.

  18. Additional relationships for 'based on results of another analysis' filter

It would be useful to be able to apply the following relationships when a filter is created using the operator 'is based on results of another analysis':

    • contains any
    • does not contain

Currently it is only possible to apply the relationships 'is equal to' and 'is not equal to' (as well as 'is less/greater than', etc). This means that it is not possible to use this operator unless the values in the specified column are identical in each report. This is not always the case, for example the Bibliographic Details > ISBN column will in most cases contain multiple, comma…

  19. Role parameters in Analytics to show circulation desks

Users subject area in Analytics allows us to add columns up to the Scope, which is the library assigned to the role, but there is no way to go even further to what circulation desks are attached to a role as parameters.

A call to the Users API retreives this detail, but API calls are not always the right way to go and sometimes one API call to export an Analytics report works better in terms of server performance.

Please, add the circulation desks attached to a role in a certain scope as a new field in Users subject area.

  20. Get auto-renewals dates back into Analytics

Since the recently released August version, Analytics does not longer show the auto-renewal date due to a mentioned performance improvement on the nightly job. Please consider rolling back this change as it actually makes it impossible to get how many auto-renewals were made on a certain day in the past, since the only date we currently have is the Last Renewal Date which is updated every time the job runs. We virtually lost our auto-renewals log integrity.

I know we still have this Last Renewal Date, the amount of auto-renewals and the Loan Date, and we could easily calculate the…
