As a possible improvement for the Fulfillment subject area, please consider adding an indicator, much like the In House Loan indicator, to loans made while an item is on course reserve. This would allow us to easily include or exclude loans made for items on reserve in our circulation reports. Currently we exclude by location, but we suspect that this is not a reliable method, in part because the inactive temporary location is still attached to many items.
A course reserve flag on a loan would also allow us to easily pull circulation counts when reporting on course reserve.17 votes
Here is my problem. We want our statistical categories linked to Fulfillment. We want to know how many patrons pursuing a Nursing degree are checking out items from the library? Itt does us no good to have data on who is pursuing a nursing degree in the users section, but not be able to link that in the fulfillment section. Because of the design of the statistical categories and the fact that we do not have a way to import every possible degree, job ID, etc. and keep the list up-to-date as it changes, this is how we have them set up:
We have the following statistical categorizes
PLAN, PROGRAM, COLLEGE, DEGREE, DEPARTMENT, DEPTID, AND JOBTITLE
We have these categories mapped into the following category types:
DEPARTMENT, COLLEGE, JOB, PLAN-PROGRAM, DEGREE
The actual value of these categories such as the actual degree is put in a note field. So where the actual data we need lies is the Users Section > Statistics Table > Statistical Category & Note fields. Unfortunately I don't see this info anywhere in the fulfillment section. This area is not shared with fulfillment either so you cannot get the information when linking the 2 subject areas.
I do have the Statistical Category 1-5 fields mapped, but it actually gives you the label of Department, College, Degree, etc. and not the note field associated with these that contains the actual data.
Having this info available in Fulfillment would be a great improvement to the system. Another way to get at this same information is when doing Patron imports allow the statistical category to be filled in with whatever value is there instead of limiting it to certain ones.

A Suppress from Discovery flag exists for both the Bibliographic and the Holdings record, but only the Bib flag is present in Analytics. This field should be added [and is yet another example of how poorly Analytics handles Holdings data as opposed to Bibliographic or Item data]6 votes
I would like the ability to analyze staff activity in Alma Analytics (how many times a staff member checks something out or in, marks something missing, scans in an item for fulfillment, etc.)9 votes
It would be really useful if you could only see the "fields" that are available to be used when using two dimensions to construct a query.
This would make the Analytics interface more user friendly, and remove the need for checking documentation to find out what fields are/are note available.7 votes
When creating large data sets, it'd be useful to be able to right click at the top of a column, 'Show Row level Grand Total', and choose something to show at the TOP of a column, instead of having to choose 'After values'. This might help avoid having to use prompts or exporting just to count things.6 votes
In the Fulfillment subject area there are no fields allowing the breakdown of the call number in the holdings record.
Please add fields that allow LC call numbers in the holdings record to be broken down into LC Code and LC number and also a normalised field which can be exported for sorting in Excel.2 votes
I would like to see the ability to have reports based on 008 fields specifically method of acquisition (purchase, gift, depository, etc. ), retention coding and lending policy.3 votes
Some areas in analytics only have date stamps instead of date+time stamps, so reporting on for example, Events from analytics will only ever bring back the date the event occurred and not the date+time required for auditing.
We'd like all dimension datestamps to have a version of the timestamp which includes the date+time so that they are useful in working out when a transaction occurred and not just the date it happened. This is good for consistency across analytics data as well.13 votes
