  1. Add general note(s) field from the Electronic Collection Editor to Analytics

Currently, only the public and authentication notes seem to be available. It would be useful to have a way to find and report on those collections that have general notes added.

  2. Add a new Bibliographic ID field for OCLC Control Number 035z to display each OCN one row per MMS ID

Currently, a user may retrieve a delimited list of cancelled OCLC control numbers from the OCLC Control Number (035z) attribute under Bibliographic Details. However, this field has limited usefulness for a couple reasons. First, the field has a limit of 256 characters, which means when a bibliographic record shows more than 15 or 16 OCLC numbers have been merged, some numbers are excluded. Second, and more importantly, each individual control number cannot be matched to other cancelled or active control numbers in other records without being split to a separate field first. This is not a straightforward task in analytics…

  3. Enable Data Flows in Oracle Data Visualization

As someone who creates data sets and data visualizations from Analytics for other library staff, it would be useful to have Data Flow enabled in Oracle's Data Analytics. This would save me time by creating a pre-determined set of steps to create and edit data sets, and to create joins between subject areas within the Data Visualization tool.

  4. Add permanent location code or name to fulfillment analytics

Under Alma Analytics we want to request that Ex Libris add the field of permanent location code or name to the fulfillment area of analytics. We need to be able to grab the count of items in a library and how many of those items (held) in that library have circulated by any mean (resource sharing, digitization, loan, etc.). The current table allows us to pull what circulation desk they circulated from. That is not entirely accurate as we allow items to be delivered and circulated from any circulation desk on campus. This type of data is needed to assess…

  5. Out-of-the-box reports - misleading column headers

A number of reports have column headers which do not reflect the results of the actual criteria used in the report e.g. Count of Items Loaned have a column header of Loans (In House + Not In House) where a filter of ‘In House Loan Indicator is equal to / is in N’ has been applied. Appreciate that you can go in and change the Column Heading description but not all users will think to check the criteria of a report and assume the results are for that indicated in the column header - see attached document for example and…

  6. Add invoice vendor to Analytics

Add the invoice "Vendor" field to analytics; currently only the invoice "Vendor Account" code and description seem to be available via Funds Expenditure-Invoice Line.

  7. Alma Analytics: Add "Pickup Location" to the Borrowing Requests Subject Area

We need tp know which local library locations requested how many items from each Lending institution in an analytic report. When Borrowing requests first go out go out we can easily see which of our, let's say 4, different library pick up locations ordered each item by looking at the pick up location parameter in the facets, The pick up location is even maintained in Alma once the item is filled. But it is not available in the Borrowing Request subject area of the analytic. We can only get an aggregate campus total for requests borrowed from each Lending Institution.…

  8. Add "VAT Percentage" to Analytics

Currently there is no way to get the VAT percentage of an invoice or invoice line in Analytics. There is only "VAT Code %", but this is useless for institutions that don't use VAT Codes.

  9. Permitting Access to Analytics Objects via Alma User Name

Accessing Analytics objects is only controlled via roles, and that makes it almost impossible to set permission for a certain report to a single colleague or even a limited number of colleagues. Thus access is granted either for a large number of persons, or just somebody with a high level of permissions (administrators).

Our workaround is mostly using scheduled reports, which can be distributed via email address or Alma user name, but a similar approach should be there for non-scheduled Analytics objects from the Analytics menu.

I suggest allowing to set permissions also via the Alma user name of a…

  10. Add "credit" to Fees and Fines subject area

Users want to create reports that show credits issued by which operators, the date and amount of the credit, who the credit was issued to and what the credit was issued for.

  11. Create reports across Pirmo VE and Alma Aanlytics modules

For example, in Primo>Usage>Report>Zero Result Searches example in
Design Analytics (Primo), in addition to the existing User Group field, the system can add fields from Alma Aanlytics, such as Statistical Category, Category Type, IP to provide subsequent analysis.

  12. Map item level fields, Pattern Type and Linking Number in Analytics.

Area of concern: Analytics Fields for Reporting on Serials 863/866 Generation.

Please reference Ex Libris presentation ‘Automation Tasks for Summary Holdings’:

    https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/@api/deki/files/63890/Serials_-_Automation_tasks_for_summary_holdings.pptx?revision=2

In order for 863/866 Summary Holdings generation to work properly, each item record must contain certain information in the ‘Pattern Type’ and ‘Linking Number’ fields. Currently, these fields are not mapped in analytics, so there is no way to report on which records lack this info. Without this reporting capability, we are stuck individually checking many thousands of records to be sure they have the required information.

What should be changed: As Serials Processors, we would like to…

  13. Ability to report on Note (5XX) fields - bibliographic details folder/dimension

We request that the Bibliographic Details dimension in Alma Analytics have an entry added for Notes, wherever the Subject Area has "Bibliographic Details" presented. This Notes attribute should include all 5XX fields and subfields in the bib record. The data should use a separator (e.g., ;) to identify the information from different and repeated 5XX fields. This is useful information for libraries for reporting purposes.

  14. Lending Publication Date

In Lending Analytics, the Publication Date field retrieves the date the Journal began publishing, and not the date the Article was published, despite the fact that the date in the Lending request is the Article's publication date. As a result, we are unable to check if we have supplied scans according to Copyright Law.

  15. Alma Analytics> Fulfillment> notification sent indicators

In the Alma Analytics Fulfillment subject area, there is a "Courtesy Notification Sent" indicator field.

I would appreciate similar indicator fields for the other types of notifications sent to the user for the transaction, such as the "Ful Overdue and Lost Loan Letter", the "Ful Overdue Lost Loan Notification Letter," and the "Return Receipt" letter.

It would be helpful to confirm that Alma generated each letter for the user, for the transaction.

Since we have a retention period set on how long each letter copy will stay on the patron's attachments tab, it is possible that the patron may still…

  16. Expand Number of User Identifiers in Analytics

In Alma Analytics, when running User analyses, only two user Identifier options are made available under the Users | User Details subject area. Each of these two Identifier options can be associated with a single user identifier type by Ex Libris, requiring that a case be opened with Ex Libris to change that association as needed. Given that there is no limit to the number of user record identifier types in Alma for an institution, having only two user identifiers readily available in Analytics is very limiting and inefficient. Ideally, Analytics should offer up to ten user identifier options as…

  17. Add "Electronic Collection Content Type" to Alma Analytics

In Alma, you're able to filter and view electronic collections by "Electronic Collection Content Type" (i.e. Book Package, Journal Package, etc.) -- However, this isn't a column or field available in Analytics.
It would be great if it could be included so we could create reports on electronic collections based on how the content is defined for that collection.

  18. Alma Analytics: Usage Data Subject Area

In Alma Design Analytics, add "Fund Ledger" to the folders in the "Usage Data" Subject Area. Collections staff want to be able to look up titles they have ordered out of their "Fund Ledger Codes" and see how much they have been used, especially TotalItemRequests. The decimal-point breakdowns of usage in the "Cost Usage" folder in the "E-Inventory" Subject Area are too confusing/convoluted, and only use UniqueTitle/ItemRequests.

  19. Analytics - increase maximum Excel export file size

Excel export from an analysis currently maxes out at 65002 rows, maybe because it's exporting in an early Excel format. Can this be changed to allow the current maximum of 1,048,576 rows?

(I know that .csv export allows more rows.)

  20. Add Normalized Call Numbers to eBook & eJournal Analytic Reports

Many academic departments ask for accreditation reports that count resources available for students. We typically use Library of Congress Call Number ranges from the OCLC conspectus to get counts of resources. The report runs well for all physical items. However, eBooks and eJournals (both ubiquitous to our collection) do not have normalized call numbers as a part of an analytics report. Therefore the counts of titles between a range of Call Numbers is not correct.
