  1. Check past requests

    When a request is cancelled or completed, there is no possibility to retrieve any information about the past request. If something went wrong, it is impossible to trace the patron or destination of the request.

  2. More information on Process Type Transit

    In 'Item history', you can see when an item was checked in and out of transit, but not for whom or whereto. If something goes wrong with the transit, you can't get any information about the inactive/completed request.

  3. Add Claims Returned items to Task List

    Monitoring Claims Returned and Missing items requires analytics. There should be a way to see the current items with a claims or missing status so staff can actively search for the items. Having the items on a task list would be ideal. Searching for claims items is a standard task for fulfilment.

  4. Clear Process Type (Transit) of all Items in Set with Job

    Often books get skipped during scanning-in and are reshelved while still having a process type of "Transit." This leads to hundreds of materials over time in the stacks showing as not in place. A set with only these items can be created, but a bulk clearing of this field isn't yet possible.
    Any of these would work:
    1. create a job that clears the Process Type (specifically books marked Transit that have already been reshelved but were skipped during the regular scan-in process)
    2. scan-in all items in a created set
    3. scan-in multiple barcodes at once (separated by ;…

  5. Custom triggered fulfillment notes

    Allow staff facing fulfillment notes (e.g. those triggered on check-in/out) to be triggered on just one or the other. That is, some of our notes are only relevant on check-out and it's unnecessary to have them pop-up on check-in.

  6. Include Barcode in Reading List Search Results

    If a user performs a search in Fulfilment > Course Reserves > Reading List > All tab for a course, book titles are listed, and the record shows there are 2 Physical copies. Clicking to see the 2 copies, the barcode number is not displayed.

    By contrast, searching Physical Items, barcode is clearly visible on the results screen by default.

    It would be very, very helpful to have the barcode displayed, in order to distinguish items more clearly. For example, the barcode column could replace the “Accession Number” field that is displayed, or it could be added as a custom…

  7. Hope to have a separate Read-Only privilege for Users' contact information

    The role "Circulation Desk Operator - Limited" lost the priviledge to check user's contact information after July release. To protect users' privacy and manage data, we cannot assign "privilege : User Manage Update" to this limited role as it has right to change customer's information. However our librarians will need to check users' contact information frequently at the Circulation Desk. Requesting the contact information from higher level librarian will reduce the efficiency.

    We hope to have a separate Read-Only privilege for Users' contact information, then we could assign this privilege to limited role based on our workflow.

  8. Include Library Name in Item Available Notice Subject Line

    Allow for the option to include the name of the library sending an available notice, "Main Library Available Notice" or "Art Library Available Notice" for example. Would be applicable to any notice where items referenced are from a single library.

  9. Time to reshelve not applicable if there is a request

    After testing the Time to reshelve, we found that if an item is requested, the delay for reshelve is not applicable.
    It make sense in a way that the on hold shelf is not really a reshelve, but we would like to take into account the delay for reshelve for requested items too. In case of quarantaine.

  10. Delay for hold notification - up to 5 digits

    Even if a library is closed to the public, the staff are working.

    When they scan a returned loan, a notification is sent but the patron cannot retrieve his document due to the closed library.
    It would be beneficial for us to be able to delay the notification for a week.
    We would like to get up to 5 digits the delay for hold notification. Currently, it's 3 digits max, 999 minutes (16 hours).

  11. Block payment and payment of fines at a circulation desk other than the library that owns the fine

    In our institution, we have 34 libraries and our students can circulate among them. We think it's a problem when a user can pay their fines at another library, not on their own campus.
    Regarding the payment of fines, we suggest that there is a way to block the payment and / or payment of fines at a circulation desk other than the library that owns the fine.

  12. Request data should be fowarded to available item immediately

    The patron A requests on title-level that there are multiple available items,
    one of those items will be in "pick from shelf" list.
    Patron B might check out the requested item before staff picks it from shelf.
    If the library has a policy that allows to override requests, Patron B can check it out
    even if an alert is displayed.
    In that case, even if there are other availble items, the request will remain under the first item
    and the first item will still in "pick from shelf" list. Alma does not make a next action.

  13. Correct inaccurate "Loan Status" in Alma

    If a patron requests a title that has multiple items when all available items are in loan,
    all items will not be renewaled, because the request is pending.

    In "My Library" the remark is "cannot renewal", but at that time,
    in Alma,the Loan status is shown as "Normal" for some items and "Recalled" for others.
    All items of the title should be shown as "Recalled".

    We suggent to reflect the request data accuratelly on the Loan Status in Alma.

    Send Courtesy Notices and Handle Loan Renewals (Job Report) include the LIBRARY in the report--we want to extract this data to send to our libraries for failed renewals during our Covid-19 closure and it would be easier to do so if the library was included--the difference between having to mash up the info from Analytics/Excel and just sending the report "as is"

  15. Alert regarding Multiple chapters requested from one item by one patron

    We would like an alert to let us know if a patron has placed multiple requests for chapters from one item. Copyright only allows for 10% or 1 chapter. As we are multicampus, it is hard to keep track of what a patron has requested to avoid breaching copyright.

  16. Support filtering in a task list to identify items with an empty status value

    We have set up a work order department within the location 'Library Fulfilment', and within the tasks list there are 'items - in department', within this there are various items which do not have a process status applied yet and we note we are unable to filter this list to show those items which do not yet have a status.
    We would like it to be possible to filter the task list so that only items with and empty process status would be displayed.

  18. Keyboard Shortcuts - Make Them Known!!

    It would be nice to have keyboard shortcuts for common functions in fulfillment, like "Scan In" and "Manage Patron Services". It would be much more efficient than always having to fumble around with the mouse at the circulation desk.
    --UPDATE--
    After doing some searching and voting for other people's suggestions, I realized that this does exist. However, when I search for information about it on common "help" interfaces (like the fulfillment release notes, how-to's and presentations), nothing shows up. Please make this information more accessible!!

  19. reading list automatic status

    When working on a reading list from within Alma it would be useful if the status changed automically. For example when a member of staff chooses 'Work On' from the dropdown in actions list the status should change to 'Being Processed'. Currently this has to be done manually.

    Enable automated floating collections by allowing 'reshelve without transit' rules to update temporary library and location values

    Currently, implementing floating collections between libraries requires manual intervention to set or update the temporary library and location values.

    I would like to see functionality added to the 'reshelve without transit' rules definition, to allow the setting of a temporary library and location, in addition to preventing the transit of the item.
