  1. Configure issues to appear in chronological order rather than alphabetical order for recieving

    For titles (especially newspapers but some others) that don't have a volume number, ALMA lists them in alphabetical rather than chronological order when receiving new issues. This is highly inconvenient as well as illogical. It means clicking through page after page of issues for newspapers, which are predicted a year out. Surely there must be some way to arrange them chronologically? If not, then it would be helpful if ALMA could show more than twenty results per page.

    Please add a validation check for outgoing vendor emails. Otherwise a spelling mistake might go unnoticed.

  3. Set temporary location to yes in import profile

    We can add temporary location information to inventory records in an import profile, but we would also like to be able to set our temporary location indicator to "yes."

  4. Vendor Contacts (Contact People tab) should not be internal contacts in Alma

    When you enter Vendor Contact Details in Alma (Contact People tab) the internal contact form is used and the vendor contacts are stored as internal contacts. This form is inappropriate for Vendor Information. It asks for non-applicable fields such as gender and birth date and there is nowhere to add important information such as the contact's name, title and company they are associated with, work phone number, cell number, fax number, etc

  5. Open predicted issues in bulk / by help of a job

    only option in alma is opening the predicted items per title. We would like more functionality in the receiving workbench. We can see that predicted issues can be opened for the coming year when in the receive screen, so have to do it title by title!

  6. At fiscal rollover, populate 'list price' field in continuous POLs with the total expenditure on that POL from the previous fiscal year

    See case #00483470.

    The figure in 'list price' represents the amount we first paid or expected to pay for a resource. In most cases, this price is wildly inaccurate after a few years.

    Manually updating these prices isn't feasible, as we've thousands of POLs and editing the prices while inputting invoices doubles the time spent on invoice processing.

    I'm hoping we can do one/all of the following:

    1. At fiscal rollover, the list price amount in the POL is replaced with the amount of the last fiscal year's expenditure.

    2. We run a job that changes the contents of the list price…

  7. Add a SUSHI account column in the usage statistics missing data page

    Currently, a lot of publishers have chosen SilverChair as their platform, e.g. Duke University Press, Geological Society of America, American Medical Association, etc. Their COUNTER reports all have SilverChair as the platform. In the Alma Usage statistics Missing Data page, their harvesting are all together under SilverChair. One day, when one or more of the publishers have problem harvesting, we would not know just by looking at the Missing Data page, because other publishers may have harvested data under SilverChair.

  8. Add "Move to department" option for Acq departments

    We would like a new option called "Move to Department" in the Receiving workbench AND in the Scan in Items form. The new option would have the effect of marking the existing Acq process as Done, and putting the item(s) in transit to the next department. Currently, if a workflow involves moving something from the Acq department to another department, such as a central End Processing unit that handles multiple libraries, the receiving staff have to perform multiple time-consuming steps.   10. Add a Notes field to SUSHI accounts

    We would like to see a Note field in the SUSHI account area. There are situations where a SUSHI account is set up but Inactive, and it would be nice to have a field where we can describe the situation.

    For example, Taylor & Francis Ebooks. It's a new platform (Nov 2017) and Ex Libris has added them to their list of SUSHI vendors. However, I've contacted the publisher and their SUSHI isn't quite ready yet. It would be nice to have a field right in the SUSHI settings where I could note that.

  12. Create a set option in Alma for Acquisitions and Resources imports for imported files larger than 50 records

    In Alma Acquisitions, we import bibliographic records from vendors such as OCLC in batch. It would aid efficiency if the option existed for the imported records to be immediately available in a set for further processing. As of February 2018, this can only be done on imports of 50 or fewer records, using the Monitor and View Imports, Report, Preview Records functionality, which creates an "or" query in Alma that can be saved as a set for further manipulation or export. A similar process (though slightly different) exists for Resources.

  13. batch move license inventory

    I would like to batch move license e-inventory on licenses and amendments to another license/amendment.

    Currently, you can move e-inventory to a different license one at at time. It would save time to select inventory to move to a different license in bulk.

  14. Improve financial forecasting of subscriptions

    It would nice to have more functionality in terms of subscription financial forecasting.

    Although we can roll over subscriptions with a blanket % increase, we would like to be able to input and overwrite this where we know price increases will differ.

    In addition, where we know the increases for multi-year agreements, these can all be set in advance, allowing for more accurate encumbrance figures.

  15. Re-linking invoice lines from old orders to new orders.

    Currently we are unable to re-link invoices from old orders over to new orders, it would be most helpful if Alma was capable of doing this.

  16. Ability to edit a location instead of creating a new one

    We are aware that this is a fulfillment configuration, but it is one which causes problems with acquisitions.

    We would like the ability to 'edit' existing location codes that would automatically update everything within those locations to the new location, including holdings, items, and PO lines...rather than having to create new locations and move things before deleting the old location.

    This would eliminate the problems with "change physical items" jobs that don't change locations for things with no items attached (common with serials).

    This would also eliminate the problem of POs becoming unlinked from holdings when a location is changed.…

  18. Adding 'citation type' to the facet in Resource Sharing Borrowing/Lending Request

    Though I can distinguish book and article using other facets such as requested form, I think that citation type(book/article)is going to be more intuitive and useful. In addition, because I found it possible to use citation type as a facet in Acquisitions, including it in Resource Sharing is also proper considering coherence or unity of facets. I hope it is added soon.

  19. "Request" link when you have ordered a physical book

    When you have ordered a physical book (one time order) it would be very helpful to get a Request link available on the Purchase order lines in Review page.

    Then you could place a request more quickly. You don't have to search for the book again.

  20. Let Persistent Search Box stay sticky to All Titles

    We would like the ability to keep the All Titles Search option sticky after we choose to order something, when browsing the results of an All Titles Search. This is the default way we create new orders, so the change of the persistent box to default to PO Lines after creating an order is counter-productive.
