Please quit using print records (or old combo print-electronic records) in the CZ to represent serials in electronic format
My understanding is that the CZ records are to represent electronic formats, but most of them seem to be records for the corresponding print title. ISSNs are either wrong (print, where it should be electronic) or the record has both the print and electronic ISSNs in the $a subfield. The OCLC# is usually that for the print record.
All of this causes problems with matching and dedupping when attempting to import and/or order actual print copies.
Please go to electronic only records for the CZ.130 votes
Thank you for input, we will be analyzing the issue. We will also work on this issue together with the CZ Management group.
Classiques Sciences Sociales Free collection is composed of more than 4,300 portfolios. Most of the records are very poor: only the title, one author, and the eISBN. The publication date in 008/7-10 is usually incorrect.
Full Marc records exist for these items and are available under certain conditions (for libraries) at http://classiques.uqac.ca/inter/telechargement_notices.php?lang=en
Note also that Les Classiques des sciences sociales actually contain more than 6,500 free works http://classiques.uqac.ca . A general update of this collection would be welcome.44 votes
Please add portfolios to the LexisNexis Law Schools electronic collection in the Community Zone.
(Note: this collection already exists in the Serials Solutions Knowledgebase, as LexisNexis Advance, with a title count of 15,431. Could the metadata be migrated to Alma, since both are now owned by ProQuest?).12 votes
Embed a Sherpa RoMEO colour indicator and a mouse-over floating tip reading info from RoMEO about a journal's copyright and self-archiving policy.
Doing this for the search results on EJP could be a great favor.
Sherpo RoMEO pubs data under CC BY-NC-ND license which seems to ban EL from re-using them? Or EL may talk to them.10 votes
The Summon indexing of this journal appears incomplete from 2009 to present. It's well used for courses, so it would be really helpful if it were fully indexed.1 vote
Please use vendor-available MARC records to configure the Gale Slavery and Anti-Slavery collections pts 2-4 as selective packages (as pt 1)
Alma CZ collections for the Gale Slavery and Anti-Slavery collections (parts I-IV) were added recently. Part I is configured as a selective package with portfolios for the individual titles, but parts II-IV are configured as databases with no portfolios. Can you please also configure the collections labeled part II through part IV as selective packages, too, and add portfolios for them as well? See my salesforce case #00411679 about this. MARC records are available from Gale Cengage for titles in all four parts.1 vote
