Enable Deep Linking in the applications
Enable deep linking into the apps so that we could use the functionality to not only link to content within the app via a url but also so that we can use it open the directly from other places such as Facebook app pages.
Please see the comments for how this can be achieved.

I have been advised on case 00977067 that deep linking isn't possible. Our use case is to deep link to content within pocket guides in CampusM from email comms and social media channels. The profile requires authentication, if the user isn't logged in, once they do login they aren't taken to the relevant page. Through the login process the deep link is lost.

Hi Edurne,
Could you confirm whether this proposed approach meets your needs, or whether you wish to keep this ticket open?
Kind regards
Liz

@ Edume, you can use the campusM URL scheme to link to a specific menu option, or position etc. in the app, if you are using campusM notifications. Please see the following articles

Thanks for the explanations, but our need refers to the app. We would like to include the link to the tile in a notification, so that the user can go directly to the tile we refer to in the message.

Please note that the deep-linking functionality is available for the campusM web interface. When opening any tile (or a pocket guide specific page), the URL link can be used for deep-linking purposes. For profiles that require authentication, the user will be prompted to the login page first and then redirect to the relevant tile/page.
Can you please comment if this meets the requirement or was this geared more toward deep-linking to tiles within a native app? And if so, can you please describe the workflow/user scenario?

We want to be able to use our web app as a portal for all of our library express workstations, where they would run only a special library app profile. The basic idea being that we would set the workstations default homepage to be a unique web app link, that would auto load the special profile each time.
Currently, there is no ability to do this and all you can do is point to the app front page, where you are given a choice of profiles to select. Which is not suitable for a multiuser express workstation environment.
Therefore we would like the special profile link idea to be developed for all web apps.

Really sorry that I did not notice this before. This is a really great thing for us to have in our mobile apps.
We were only recently made aware that goo.gl shortener can make links to app pages, it also allows people to do a general Google search for information that can point them directly to in app information. This could be handy for things like maps or timetables etc.
It looks like the app will need some code to be added that will then allow it to be indexed, but it this would be really useful and does not look like major work and could be interlinked with campusM links etc.
For more info on how to implement it etc look here:
