Ability to configure New Primo to force patrons to sign in
In the classic Primo, we were able to configure force login using the javascript in the KB Article https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Primo/Knowledge_Articles/How_to_configure_Primo_to_force_patrons_to_sign_in
The KB article is for classic UI only.
Due to security, we need to force user login.

"You could emulate it with some code. This would trigger the login modal without a cancel button, if the user is not logged in:
https://gist.github.com/d22/852da26fc7fdcbf9a7df86a1fea8967e
Trigger the login box in ‘prm-user-area-expandable-after’ and remove the cancel button in ‘prm-login-after’.
But be aware, with some Javascript knowlege and browser dev-tools, the login modal could be dismissed without login.

The New User Interface out of the box expects a hit set before offering the sign on option. But there are two endpoints where login kicks in immediately: the login page ( /primo-explore/login?vid= ) and the user account page ( /primo-explore/account?vid= ). For those Primo customers interested in a seamless single sign on make it optional that the NUI behave like the account page when a user opens Primo the first time.

There is a way to force sign-in in the new UI, but it is only available for SAML authentication, not LDAP authentication (which is what we use).
We also need the ability to force sign in because we want to only allow the CCC Get It Now collections to show for particular user groups.
