  1. Ignore 022z when linking to physical holdings

A journal has been accidentally misprinted another journal’s ISSN once and the wrong ISSN is included its bib record in 022z (I believe this description is correct according to MARC21 rules). CDI records of articles with the ISSN in question shows the wrong journal holdings with the ISSN in 022z, because CDI makes a Get It link by not only 022a but also 022z. Because of that, patrons cannot see the correct journal holdings. We think it is necessary to ignore 022z and see only 022a when linking physical holdings.

  2. Resource Recommender

Resource Recommender - It would be great if we can get information on which resource recommender is being used in number of times. For example - we have resource recommenders for the New York Times - would like to see if the resource recommenders for this specific resource are being used. We were hoping to gather that the kind of detail.

    Thank you

  3. Translate coverage and licence labels for NZ full text services in IZ views

PrimoVEs in our network use 4 languages for the user interface - English, German, French and Italian.
Consortial and Open Access e-resources are activated in the Network Zone for all the IZs.
When viewing Full-text services from NZ in the detailed view in IZs, the coverage and license labels are not translated to the language of the user UI.
The absence of translation creates discrepancy for our users. The IZ FT services' labels are translated but the NZ services are always in English.

  4. Select languages for Primo VE UI that would be different than choices for Alma UI.

Currently all languages used in Alma (for staff) are automatically presented as the UI languages in Primo VE.

I would like to be able to manage the choices separately, so that we can choose to remove, or to add languages for Primo VE UI. Also, we should be able to sort the language choices in the order we prefer, based on the language in which the UI is open.
    Thank you for your support.

  5. Add the DeepL API

We would like to add the DeepL API (https://www.deepl.com/docs-api/translating-text/) to integrate a translation service into PRIMO home page
We think it it would be of interest to many other libraries

  6. Translation of months in date format

It would be useful to be able to translate month names in Primo VE for languages other than English.

Our library sends letters in French and English and would like to be able to configure French translations for our preferred date format. We use the form, e.g., "7 May 2021". The French version of this would be "7 mai 2021". The English month names are currently used in the Primo VE display when the user selects the French display language. It would be nice if this could be done automatically (in the case of Primo VE display language) or by…

  7. Visualization of Analytical Bibliographic Data in PrimoVE.: Correct Sorting of Parts

A multi-part resource (eg: a sketchbook containing 200 drawings) is catalogued in MARC 773 (host/item relationship). PrimoVE ought to sort and display the component parts using $$g and $$q. Currently PrimoVE fails to do this in the correct numerical order. Rather, the presentation is alphabetical which is useless for component-items organized by their part or page number. There was a recent ideas exchange issue raised on this very topic, which was “solved” by providing the aforementioned “alphabetical solution”. However, a NUMERICAL visualization has much more value in Discovery for patrons who are interested in locating an item as part of…

  8. Make Primo Analytics network folder available for consortia members

Make the Primo Analytics network folder available to consortia members' Primo Analytics catalogs the way it is for Alma Analytics. This would make it possible to share Primo Analytics reports to all members without adding the report to the shared community folder or copying the report to each institutions' local folder.

  10. OpenURL resolving - BaseURL configurable for extension to consortial network

If an OpenURL request comes from external to Primo VE, then only the inventory in the IZ is considered and there is no possibility to extend the request to the physical inventory of the corresponding consortial network.

Suggestion for an enhancement: the BaseURL for OpenURL-request should be configurable in a way that the argument "consortial network" can be included in the request [i.e. with the configuration it can be decided whether only
a.) the inventory of the IZ (or Campus)
    OR
b.) also the physical inventory of all libraries of the consortial network should be displayed (i.e. analogous to "search_scope")”

  11. Data accompanying article

How will you keep datasets or articles being lost because they share the time title? It is becoming more and more common for articles to have accompanying data and from your description of match and merge, it seems that this may result in either the dataset or the article being excluded from search results. Thanks for considering!

  12. CDI indexing non-published "articles"

We are having an issue of posts to the journal/magazine's website being added to our discovery instance as a result of CDI. The linking for these items inevitably fails as the item is not actually part of the journal/magazine and was never published as part of it.

We would like to ask for such items to be excluded from CDI indexing.

An example of an article with this problem: https://thediplomat.com/2020/08/was-your-face-mask-made-using-forced-labor-in-china/

  13. Include available NZ e-inventory within IZ Alma/Primo VE browse indexes

For consortia with Network Zones, the centralized management of electronic resources is an integral function of the NZ. However, the Alma Browse Bibliographic Headings functionality used for the Primo VE Browse Search indexes omits e-resources available to an institution via the NZ.

Within the Metadata Editor, staff can select either 'Institution' or 'Network' when using the Browse Bibliographic Headings function. Selecting 'Institution' includes records from the IZ level, which omits anything where electronic access has been distributed to that institution from the NZ. Selecting 'Network' includes all records from the NZ level, regardless of the institution's physical holdings or electronic…

  14. Ability to expand all sections in the get it section by default

User Story: Many of our librarians use Primo to search for our records. They would prefer to be able to see the barcode information on all items in the get it section. As soon as they open the record. Rather than having to click each one, show the extra information.
Solution: we are requesting the ability to have all items to be expanded by default in a specific view. So that library staff can see the item information, once they open the record.

  15. Ability to move search by voice or add more space between the three buttons

It would be useful to be able to move the "search by voice" function or expand the space between it and other buttons. As currently it is too close to the submit search button and cancel search button. Meaning that students and staff sometimes click on this accidently. It would be useful to be able to move this or make the spaces between these three items a bit larger. So these accidently clicks didn't keep happening.

  16. Request forms for Booking request and hold request in Primo VE each need their own template

In Primo VE the booking request form uses the same template as the (hold) physical request. The info message (form description) is the same… However, we would need to have a different form description, as we have right now in Primo Classic. In our institution, instructions for booking requests are very different! Because of this different functionality, we hope a solution can be found to give a different user guidance for both types of requests.

  17. Define preferred pickup location in personal details of my account

As a user of a large library network, I usually pick up the books I loan at library Z. When making a request I have to scroll down or use the search function in order to find library Z at the bottom of the very long list of pickup locations.

I would like a new feature, so that I can define my preferred pickup location as library Z in the personal details of my account. So, my preferred pickup location would always be displayed at the very top of the list of pickup locations. Plus, I could see at one…

  18. Integrate Retraction Watch data into CDI article records

We would like to see metadata on retracted articles incorporated to CDI/Primo from the Retraction Watch database (https://retractionwatch.com). While some CDI records indicate in titles that the articles have been retracted, not all do -- this appears to be provider-dependent. Adding a metadata element to indicate retracted status would make it possible to flag retracted articles visibly and consistently, and to create a facet/filter for retracted articles.

  19. Add an attachment icon picture besides the item of the attachment.

Add an attachment icon picture besides the item of the attachment.

In Primo, readers often can not distinguish the difference of the book and the attachment of the book(ex: CD-ROM). So readers often request the barcode number of the attachment of the book first wrongly, and then find that they really want to request the book instead of the attachment of book(CD-ROM). I suggest the system can show an attachment icon picture(Ex: paper clip) besides the item of the attachment. It can help readers distinguish the types of the items(book or CD-ROM attachment) quickly and request the types of the…

  20. Make it possible to add other resource types than journal in journal search

Make it possible to add any other resource types than journal in journal search. Today only journals from rtype in pnx is included: <rtype>journals</rtype> We want to be able to add our selfcreated resource type for monographic series to the list of journals.
