  1. Order of action buttons in the POL

    In the new PO line interface, the action buttons available when creating a POL is not in a practical order, which causes a lot of our staff to press “save” instead of “save and continue”. This causes the POL to remain in status “in review”. The user also must use more energy to locate the correct action button. We have two different suggestions for solving this:

    1. Move the actions “Save and continue” and “order now” to the right part of the menu line and have this be marked in a stronger color than the other buttons. In the current design…

  2. Confirmation Notice for Curbside Bookings

    Alma has allowed for the Booking Request feature to be set-up and modified as a means to provide curbisde service or make appointments. However, it appears that no letter exists to confirm the appointment day/time with the user, which would be most helpful in providing user instructions, cancellation information, contact numbers, etc. I propose that this letter be added to enhance communication and expectations especially during this challenging time of changing services and delivery options.   3. Change / improve the Booking process for staff and patrons

    Hi all,

    We wish to submit a proposal to change the current booking process for staff creating a booking request in Alma AND for patrons creating their own bookings in PRIMO VE.

    Now, Alma’s option to submit ‘’ Booking ‘’ requests requires us to first search an item, select it and then enter booking times for each piece of equipment desired, which is very time consuming.

    When patrons book equipment, they often need up to 10 or more pieces of equipment for the same booking period. This is quite inconvenient and increases the risk of mistakes in the process.

  5. Make patron info updateable in Primo flag more granular

    Currently the only control on allowing patrons to update info via Primo is either on or off:

  6. Please add Licensing Agent Code to the PO Line License section in the Funds Expenditure area in Alma Analytics.

    This would help us report to our Finance Dept on all licensing parties associated with an order.

  7. Add "Move to department" option for Acq departments

    We would like a new option called "Move to Department" in the Receiving workbench AND in the Scan in Items form. The new option would have the effect of marking the existing Acq process as Done, and putting the item(s) in transit to the next department. Currently, if a workflow involves moving something from the Acq department to another department, such as a central End Processing unit that handles multiple libraries, the receiving staff have to perform multiple time-consuming steps.   8. Option to sort reading list citations by publication date

    Instructors sometimes want to sort citations in a reading list by publication date. We would like the options “Date – ascending” and “Date – descending” added to the “Sort by” dropdown in Alma and to the “Order citations in all sections” dropdown in Leganto, so that either library staff or instructors could make this change.

    We know that data in this field can take on different forms because of the way it is entered in the bib record. For instance, it could be e.g. "c2000", "2000", "2000-2001" etc., so some normalization may have to occur

  9. Using "Change expected date" clears filters on "Order lines with claims"

    When using the "Order lines with claims" task it's useful to add filters, such as Purchase Type and Vendor, to refine your list of claims. However, if you use the "Change expected date" option, which should be quicker than Edit, it clears your filters once the new date is saved.

    Can you please allow the filters to remain after using the Change expected date function? Thank you

  10. Make the focus and displayed function configurable

    in the Function "Fulfillment" - " manage user services" - "Patron services" - "submit request"

    a popup screen is shown "Submit request". After select a title there are 4 action buttons:

    "Patron Physical", "Booking", "Cancel", "Digitization"
    (in this order).

    • Please put the Action "Cancel" at the first or last (better) place!
    • Can we configure which buttons are shown (Digitazation, and Booking we not offer as a service)
    • the action button "Digitazation" is the prefered action (focus is on that function), can we configure which action is the prefered action?

  11. Send overdue notifications only on library's open days

    Since we would prefer to avoid to send overdue and lost loan notifications to our patrons on Sundays and holidays, it would be great to have a further option for when to automatically run the “overdue and lost loan job”, that is, to run it only “on the library’s open days”, based on the opening hours set in the “Calendar management”.

  12. Suppress bibliographic records of electronic collections in NZ automatically.

    Currently bibliographies of electronic collections, which we select "Mark Bib as suppressed" on the page of "Activation Wizard: Electronic Collection and Services Setup" and activated from CZ, are suppressed in IZ. But these records are in NZ and can be searched with consortium scope of Primo VE. It would be great if it is suppressed not only in IZ but also in NZ automatically. The necessary workflow looks as follows:
    If held by one institution in a consortium and suppressed, suppressed from NZ.
    If held by some institutions, and only one of them suppresses, not suppressed from NZ.

  13. Add item policy column to Received Items List

    When receipting books, one of the checks we make is the Item Policy. All our other checks (Shelf mark, location, barcode etc.) are on the Received Items List page, but when we go to check the item policy, the column is not there. We have to go into each one individually to check the item policy.
    I tried looking in the 'Manage column display' option, but the item policy column is not listed there. Please could it be added in?

  14. Report list of records changed after abort job

    After a user was running a discovery suppression job, and aborted they assumed nothing was changed. It would be very useful if the records that were changed before the abort were reported to the user.

  15. Moving item records to differenent holding records and merging holding records

    Being able to merge holdings records that have been accidentally created. Either that, or moving item records to different holding records, even if the holding records are in the same location, but different call numbers.

  16. Extend time before the Alma trial survey times out

    Dear support

    When answering a survey of the Alma trial management (as a trial participant), the survey will time out after approximately 10-15 minutes of non activity. This will reset all answered questions, i. e. empty the fields and remove the chosen results.

    We would highly appreciate it if an adjustment of the time out period for surveys was possible, since in reality it’s common to test a product thoroughly in one browser tab while having the survey open in another and only returning to the latter once the testing of the product (or a specific aspect of it) has…

  17. Accession number available by API

    Hello,
    To be able to develop several external tools (relabelling, cataloging, ...) we need to access the "Accession number" table by API (read and write).
    This would probably give many other clients oportunities in developing external tools for managing physical collections.

  18. Task list customization

    Currently, the task list is automatically configured based on user roles. However, there are many features assigned to a role in Alma that a user may not actually deal with. For example, as electronic resources manager, I do not need to see print order lines to claim for print titles. This is particularly an issue because other departments do not always use the task list in their workflow, so mine can become cluttered with their content. We would like additional customization to be available within the task list, so that we only see relevant tasks.

  19. Enable Data Flows in Oracle Data Visualization

    As someone who creates data sets and data visualizations from Analytics for other library staff, it would be useful to have Data Flow enabled in Oracle's Data Analytics. This would save me time by creating a pre-determined set of steps to create and edit data sets, and to create joins between subject areas within the Data Visualization tool.

  20. EOD match method improvement: Print book orders via EOD are attached to the electronic bibliography.

    Alma is unable to distinguish between electronic and physical bibliographies in NZ when ordering via EOD.
    This has caused a problem with print book orders being attached to electronic bibliographies when only NZ has a bibliography.
    If the library has an inventory in the IZ, we can work around this issue with the following setting.


    Single match - match only record with the same inventory type (electronic/physical)


    This function cannot determine whether it is electronic or physical without an inventory.
    We consider it incomplete as a function because it cannot be distinguished at the bibliographic level.
