  1. RS borrowing request cancellation reason to be available in Analytics

    When cancelling a Borrowing Request in Alma using the Change Status option in the Borrowing Request screen, there is the option to specify a Cancellation Reason. We would like the Cancellation Reason selected in the drop-down menu of the Request Cancellation box to be available in Analytics.

    This would enable us to analyse reasons for the cancellation of borrowing requests by library staff and potentially identify opportunities for requester education. For example, if ‘copyright issue’ or ‘item already available’ are most frequently selected as the reason for borrowing request cancellation.

  2. Subject Index search: the comparison is not to contain a certain string but the entire field

    PrimoVE enriches the search with terms from the 150 or 450 fields of the authority record when searching by subject index. Still, we would need the match not to contain a certain character string but to match the entire 150 or 450 fields with the subjct being searched for with an exact search in PrimoVE.
    This would prevent subjects sharing part of the string (but not all) from appearing in an exact subject search in PrimoVE.

    For example, if we search for records on "Right to life" in Subjects index, Primo VE also retrieves records on "Right to private life"…

  3. Show Interested User name directly in the PO Line list when receiving new material

    Currently, for PO Lines with interested user(s), we can only see a green "V" in the PO Lines list when receiving new material in the Acquisition Department.
    Since we increasingly use Purchase Requests to order new material, we almost always have IUs in the PO Lines. These IUs can either be patrons or staff members.

    We'd like to be able to see straightaway the IU's name(s) when receiving, either directly or when flying over this green "V".
    It would save us a few clicks to be able to see quickly the Interested User's name. And it is important for us:…

  4. Activated portfolios in a community zone collection

    We would like to be able to see which portfolios are active in a community zone collection and which are not. For example, if 182 of 184 portfolios are active in a CZ collection, we want to be able to filter those that are activated institutional zones or in the community zone. Currently you need to compare Export Lists to see this.

  5. Support viewing pptx files in Alma viewer

    It would be good if it was possible to view pptx files (PowerPoint/slide decks) in Alma viewer.

    This could enable better access to teaching and conference resources.

  6. Create a scan in message when a call number is inadvertently changed using change item information

    Add a Scan in message when an items call number has been changed through Scan in items> Change item information, when the call number field has been left blank.

    This could be an optional message enabled through "Scan In Messages Configuration" where you could select either none, pop up message or feedback message.

  7. Show 'chapter/article title' and 'chapter/article author' in completed digitization requests and in Analytics

    For copyright reasons, we need to track whether users have requested an article from an issue or a chapter from a book from which they have already received a scan.

    Completed digitisation requests in Alma do not show the chapter/article title or chapter/article author, only the overall title requested. The data is not available in Analytics either.

    This means that we are reliant on a local spreadsheet to track what users have already requested.

    We would like to see the data available on the completed requests and in Analytics.

  8. When a hold expires, have them display in the task list

    In the same way that requests show in the task list, it would be helpful that when the hold is expired that it will also show in the task list. People would see on their desktop if an item needs to be shelved or returned to a campus library, instead of remember to check the Expire Hold shelf.

    When changing the format of a record using the App, we would like the original Creation Date to be transferred to the History tab of the new record. Currently, the Creation Date is the date the App fixed the format.

  12. View members or results button from Set Details page

    When looking at the list of sets on the Manage sets page, it is sometimes necessary to click into the Set Details to view the description or notes to make sure that it is the correct set that I want to work with. To then view the members, it takes three more clicks: 1) go back to the manage sets screen 2) right click or click the ellipsis button 3) click the members or results option on the dropdown menu.   13. Ability To Search Invoices By Payment Status

    We would like the ability to search invoices by payment status. This is important to us because we bulk export invoices (XML), one campus at a time. For example, we need to be able to check that all invoices in Ready to Be Paid status are of one campus before we send to the integration.

  14. Allow conditionals and general messages to be sent to and received from ILLiad ISO resource sharing partners

    The SUNY system has started sending resource sharing borrowing requests dircectly to a non-SUNY library's ILLiad via an ISO ILLiad resource sharing partner. Things are going well for the most part, but we're unable to pass general messages to ILLiad, and we're unable to receive conditional messages from ILLiad. Could you please work with Atlas Systems on allowing these messages to be passed between systems?

  15. "Report To Ex Libris" for CDI issues

    Currently it is only possible to report Collection and Portfolios issues via the "Report to Ex Libris" functionality of Alma.
    Colleagues from our e-resources department (who also manage most of the CDI settings) would be glad to use this reporting tool also for CDI issues: wrong URLs, incorrect "Full Text Rights in CDI", etc.

    Please, provide a CRM Cateogry "CDI" in the form and include some CDI data (like now Collection ID, Portfolio ID).
    This would make it much easier for us to report CDI problems, and support team would also benefit from standardized requests.

  16. Allow digital collection items to be restricted by campus in Primo like electronic portfolios

    We would like to be able to limit the visibility of an item in a digital collection based on the the campuses we have set up in Alma in the same way that we can do with electronic Portfolios.

    If we set up a digital collection item that is a database for example, we would like to have it only display in Primo under digital items if the current view is aligned with the campus that is allowed to see and access that digital item.

    EG: We have a database "Cinahl" that we subscribe to for the RMH campus, but…

  17. Allow API update action of License in POLine record

    Currently, License field in POLine record cannot be updated via Acquisition API. There are no effective way to link up POLine record and License record without manual update one by one. The field were mentioned in the restpoline.xsd as

    "The license code. Relevant for electronic orders only, and is not supported for PUT. "

  18. Option to publish new set with Publishing Profiles

    Currently, when you change the set in a publishing profile, the previous set is first published as deleted, and then the new set is published by the job. This behavior means that we have to duplicate an existing publishing profile each time we want to publish a new set with an existing publishing profile in order to get a "clean" output and to avoid overly long processing times publishing the old set as deleted.   19. On-shelf requests for specific user groups

    We have limited human resource for picking up the items for on-shelf requests. Therefore, we hope this service is only available for patrons in need, for example, disabled patrons or distinguished professors/researchers.

    Therefore, we need Alma to support “specific user groups’ to “request for on-shelf items”, and “pick up in different library/campus only”. It would also be nice if we can limit the number of on-shelf requests in a period of time.

    This will definitely help librarians to provide precise service efficiently!

  20. Work Orders: package of required enhancements

    Work orders are useful but often cumbersome and don't work as required. A package of enhancements/fixes would make them much more useful and useable:

    • Adding notes when creating work orders in bulk. This would enable having fewer work order types as explanatory notes could be used instead.
    • Makes notes more (immediately) visible when scanning in (pop up message?). Again would enable fewer work order types as items could be easily catergorised according to explanatory note upon receipt at managing department.
