  1. Enable case-insensitivity for indication and other rules

    Indication (and other) rules in Alma are case sensitive by design. Case sensitivity of course is often desirable, to ensure most exact matching and prevent inadvertent data problems. However, in some instances, especially with indication rules, it would be very helpful and time-saving to be able to use case insensitivity, as is possible with regular expressions (ex: /i). An example of a scenario in which this would be helpful is when using an indication rule to identify records which contain a particular textual note, when that note may have been entered with varying cases: sometime all uppercase, sometimes sentence case,…

  2. Fix Analytics request creator field to stop it changing to Alma staff primary ID when request cancelled on Alma

    When a user places a request on Primo, the ‘creator’ field in the Analytics requests table shows as ‘System’. When a request is placed by a staff member on Alma, the staff member’s primary ID shows in the creator field.

    If a request placed by a user on Primo is subsequently cancelled by a staff member on Alma, the creator field changes from System to the staff member’s primary ID. This means reporting on requests placed on Primo vs. requests placed by staff members on Alma is not accurate and the field is misleading (creator should refer only to creator).

  3. Permanent Call Number in Physical Item Editor

    It would be extremely useful if we could edit the permanent call number in the physical item editor the same way we can edit the permanent location. This information is an holding's element in many libraries.
    Otherwise, after receiving the orders, we need to edit both the physical item and the holding after cataloging and before scanning the items to put them on the shelves.. This is tedious and prone to errors.

  4. Allow Jobs to Accept CSV files

    There are many instances where we would like to run a job like the change physical items job for a list of barcodes where the variable is not the same for each barcode. For example, I'd like to add provenance codes to a list of barcodes, but each barcode could have one of 15 different codes. So it would be great to be able to upload a CSV or TSV with two columns - one with barcode and one with the provenance code for that barcode.

    We use Collections to group records together to help with our Leganto processing, but you cant see this information from the Citation view. We would like both views to provide the same level of information. The attached screenshot shows what I mean

  7. Tables need an option to clear the default value

    There are various code tables in Alma that prompt you to choose "Default Value -- Yes/No" when adding a row to the table. Once multiple rows have been added, it's possible to select one value to be the default value. However, once one value has been chosen as the default at any point in time, there is NO option to clear the default value (short of deleting the default value row which causes other problems). There are times when we don't want a default value but "Yes" was chosen by mistake when adding a new row.

  8. Add a link from the PO line to the "Receive" workbench

    It would be helpful to have a link to the receiving workbench from a POL, to eliminate the extra step of receiving items that are ordered but already in hand. This applies especially to standing orders and gifts. We already have the items in hand at the time of order creation. With the current setup, we have to 1) create the POL, 2) write down the POL number or copy it before selecting Order Now, 3) switch to Receive to receive the item in order to close the POL.   9. Customize search labels for local authorities

    We would like to configure the search labels for local authorities. We have already checked, but the MARC21 fields used for the corresponding local authorities (084, 600, 651) are not shown in the list of search labels. Unfortunately, the support was not able to help us. They said that index codes to search index labels mapping and expanding the index fields is an enhancement request.

  10. Display Loan HOUR in Patron Services and Manage Item Returns

    Currently the Patron Services and Manage Item Returns screens display the DATE an item was loaned only. It would be helpful if they also displayed the HOUR. On the Patron Services screen, it takes extra clicks to review the Loan History in the Actions menu. On the Manage Item Returns screen, it is impossible to view the hour -- you must go to the item's history, which isn't accessible directly. The hour is already displayed in the Patron Services Due Date and Manage Item Returns Returned Date fields. I hope it is easy to add the hour to the Loan…

  11. Editing multiple collections from a set in bulk

    We have a lot of historic collection records left over from our migration which we would like to update in bulk, for example, there collections have no portfolios so I would like to be able to add services to them all at once rather than individually. I'd also like to be able to update the "Library" field etc.

    I can create a set of all these collections however, I can't make bulk updates to it. It would be great if there was an ability to run a job to add services and download a spreadsheet of all the fields in…

  12. Combining multiple itemized sets

    We'd really like the ability to flag multiple sets to be combined to create a single combined set. Several times we've wanted to do this to facilitate data analysis (e.g. on sets created logging weekly data loads), but it's far too time-consuming to combine them two at a time!

  14. Physically Received by Library

    It should be possible to change the status of a Borrowing Request to Digitally Received by Library from Physically Received by Library or vice-versa, if the wrong Format was received. Currently, it is impossible to create a barcode if the item was Digitally Received.

  15. Display record format in search results and browse pages

    We catalogue Alma-D material in both MARC and DC formats.
    We would like an easy way to determine which format a record is in when viewing it from either an Alma results page or browsing through a collection.

    This could be done with the addition of the record format field to the brief record display.

  16. Eliminate the confirmation step when editing item records.

    The process of receiving journal items is unnecessarily slowed down by having to confirm every single edit. Clicking on "Save" should be enough to get the job done. Breaking out Receive as a separate step has already added a step to the process. Please consider any and all ways of reducing the amount of time spent looking at blue spinning circles. Thank you.

  17. When Creating Borrowing Requests Check for Duplicates with previous completed and cancelled requests

    Following the implementation of the ability to check for duplicates when creating borrowing requests, we see that this only applies to active requests. We would find it helpful to have duplicate completed and cancelled requests flagged up in Alma (without the request being automatically rejected)

  18. Renewal Operator in Analytics

    It would be useful to include Renewal Operator details in the Fulfillment Analysis area on Alma Analytics. This would allow us to identify and report on the number of renewals that took place at the circulation desk, via self service or via Primo.

  19. Add Access type in the portfolio information update job

    Since Ex Libris has added Access type for individual portfolio, there has to be a job to run to add access type to the portfolios in a collection. Currently, either we have to specify it in each portfolio manually, or we load a spreadsheet matching on portfolio ID. Unfortunately, as of today 1/23/2019, when loading a spreadsheet without the local coverage, e.g. only the access type, the local coverage is overwritten.

  20. “In Review” requests sorted by creation date

    In the Acquisitions> Purchase Request> Manage Purchase Request> “In Review” requests, these are displayed in reverse order of the creation date.

    It would be more useful if the default order was by creation date, that is, the oldest requests were shown in the top, so that they are managed in the first place. In this way, it would save time in their management.
    Another possibility would be that the librarian could select the type of ordering of the requests.
