  1. Add option to Quick Cataloging Template for Publish/Don't Publish to OCLC.

Add a checkbox option to the Quick Cataloging Template for Publish/Don't Publish to OCLC. This would prevent brief records for items created by circulation staff for professor's personal copies from being sent to OCLC and added as new records.

  2. Notes on bibliographic records should open as a pop-up message when a user starts editing the record.

We have the option to add notes to bibliographic records in Alma which are only visible in the metadata editor. This is found under record actions – add note. The option to add notes here is very practical, but it is easy for the cataloger to ignore the note. To make the note harder to ignore it should open as a pop-up message when you first start to edit the bibliographic record in the metadata editor. This could be added as a feature that each library could turn on or off in their configuration menu.

  3. RS - show more fields (such as Note) for Partner when using Add partner

When selecting a Partner in Resource Sharing Borrowing Request , one can only see 4 fields (see attachment) for the Partner. It would be useful if other fields, such as Note , might be enabled. There are many criteria and information helpful when slecting a partner, and in the real world they are often saved in the Note field, and this field should be visible at the step of selecting the partner.

  4. Create an electronic collection for the "Zhong hua jing dian gu ji ku"

The Zhonghua Classics Database contains the standard punctuated versions of many important Chinese classical texts in the fields of philosophy, history and literature (such as biji) as published by Zhonghua Shuju and other major publishers of punctuated editions. The database also includes the 360 volume Quan Song Wen《全宋文》set as e-books. Quan Song Wen is a collection of Chinese prose dating from the Song dynasty that was first published in 2006 by 上海辭書出版社.
In addition to browsing whole titles, this digitized version has been optimized to search simultaneously variant forms of characters (defaults can be changed in the advanced search), and…

  5. Add Fine/Fee ID and Transaction ID columns to User Details Fines/Fees tab

In the Fines/Fees tab of the User Details screen add Fine/Fee ID and Transaction ID to the list of columns that staff can choose to display. Currently the Fine/Fee ID and Transaction ID is only accessible via an Analytics report and thus aren’t available until the next day after any updates to the user’s fine/fees occur. Our staff need these IDs when troubleshooting fine/fee problems which means that users are negatively impacted by the Analytics lag time.

  6. Add ability to customize the data exported by Bursar integration profile using System = Other

When creating an integration profile of type Bursar which uses a ‘System’ setting of ‘Other’ there should be more granular control over what data is included in the export.

If a ‘System’ setting of ‘Other’ is selected, then a 'Data' tab should be made available which will allow you to select via checkbox what fines/fees and user data is included in the exported file. The data available should at minimum include, but not necessarily be limited to, what is accessible via API.

  7. Add export start/effective date to Bursar integration profile configuration settings

When creating a new Bursar integration profile, we want to be able to limit the transactions being exported to only those generated after a specific date. This is in addition to ‘Time before export (days)’ setting. We've never used an integration profile to export fines/fees to be transferred to our bursar office and have instead used the API. We're now stuck in a situation where we can't switch to using an integration profile because without a start/effective date there's no way to prevent the exported files from creating double billing of transactions that have already been transferred to our bursar…

  8. Addition of the invoice fields 'Invoice-number' e 'Invoice-date' to the Physical Items subject area

It would be useful if Alma Analytics could allow the creation of a report of newly purchased physical items including not only bibliographic data but also administrative and invoice data, such as for example the number and date of the invoice. Currently, the 'Physical Items' subject area only contains the 'Invoice Status' field and it is not possible to integrate it with the 'Invoice-number' and 'Invoice-date' fields present in the 'Funds and Expenditure' subject area.

  9. Add a job that can set the CDI option collectively

We would like you to add a job to set "Activate for search in CDI" collectively for the electronic collection set of CZ.
Also, please add a job to batch update the following CDI options for the electronic collection set of IZ.
    - CDI Search activation status
    - We subscribe to only some titles in this collection
    - CDI-only full text activation
    - Do not show as Full Text available in CDI even if active in Alma

  10. Add a link from the PO line to the "Receive" workbench

It would be helpful to have a link to the receiving workbench from a POL, to eliminate the extra step of receiving items that are ordered but already in hand. This applies especially to standing orders and gifts. We already have the items in hand at the time of order creation. With the current setup, we have to 1) create the POL, 2) write down the POL number or copy it before selecting Order Now, 3) switch to Receive to receive the item in order to close the POL. Merging step 3 into the POL creation process would save a…

  11. Sorting electronic collections by "Public name (override)"

When searching for electronic collections, results lists can currently only be sorted by collection name or by rank. It would be very useful if the list could also be sorted by "Public name (override)".

Currently, for each entry in the result list, the name from the field "Public name (override)" is displayed first, followed by the collection name - which equals the public name - in parentheses. However, the alphabetical order is determined by the public name. This results in a collection list sorted by the names which are in second place and in parantheses. This is rather confusing and…

  12. Add warning to "Scan In Items" and "Shipping Items" for certain item policies

We would like to suggest the implementation of a pop-up for "Scan In Items" and "Shipping Items" to alert staff when they are about to process an item with a restrictive item policy (e.g. 63, 67, 68, etc.).

For example, when a request is placed at the title level and there are multiple items with differing item policies, this pop-up would be helpful to avoid processing the wrong item.

  13. Bursar integration: Additional fee statuses in Alma & Allow fee status change with job Import from Bursar

Currently there exist in Alma only the fee statuses “open”, “transferred” and “closed”. Transferred means fee was exported to external Bursar system. When the fee is imported back to Alma, it is automatically Closed. For staff it is not possible to tell if the closed fee was paid, waived, unpaid etc. without consulting the 3rd party Bursar system.
To give the librarians and end users more transparency about the (invoice) status of a fee, we would need more differentiated fee statuses. Also, we need to be able to set this status when importing the fees back to Alma using the…

  14. Improve Shelf Report functionality and responsiveness

Alma’s “Shelf Report” tool is a cumbersome, involved “inventory” process that requires users to populate a spreadsheet with barcode values, feed it to Alma, and then track down and manually identify any items that come back as an error (without Alma providing a timely or clear explanation for where a problem item might have been found if it was detected, or not detected). We’re aware of Dean Lingley’s API for “shelf inventory” and the WRLC “AlmaInventory” tool that attempt to cover some of these gaps, but neither of these replicate the same mass-scan-immediate-feedback-fix-it-and-move-on utility (without involving spreadsheets, macros, etc.) that…

  15. Notes, expected receiving date and storage location ID for items should be visible in list view

When searching for physical items in the repository search it would be practical for a note field to be visible from the search result list. In advanced search for physical items, you can search for internal note 1-3, statistical note 1-3 and public note, it would save time if you could see these without editing each item. Using the existing option for adding and removing columns in the repository search (manage column display) you should be able to choose which of these fields you would like to be visible. These fields should then be included when you download an excel…

  16. Tables need an option to clear the default value

There are various code tables in Alma that prompt you to choose "Default Value -- Yes/No" when adding a row to the table. Once multiple rows have been added, it's possible to select one value to be the default value. However, once one value has been chosen as the default at any point in time, there is NO option to clear the default value (short of deleting the default value row which causes other problems). There are times when we don't want a default value but "Yes" was chosen by mistake when adding a new row.

    One example of this…

  17. MARC field 788 should be searchable

The MARC field 788 ("Parallel Description in Another Language of Cataloging") is used by Library Archives Canada to store information about how to link to record numbers of alternate languages (ie, French to English, and vice versa). This information goes into the $$w (Record number) field.

Having this field searchable would assist in finding records for the same things in different languages.

  18. Linking several Electronic Collections to one PO line from within the order

In Alma it's possible to link several Electronic Collections to one PO line. This is very helpful for us. To do so you can just write the PO line number in the field PO Line in the Acquisitions and License Information in the Electronic Collection Editor. But there is no way to do it vice verse, to link the order to multiple electronic collections from within the order. This would be very important for us, especially for those cases where the Electronic Collection is not in our IZ but in the NZ, so that we are not able to edit…

  19. Allow multiple levels of nesting for functions in Dynamic URLs

I am requesting the ability to nest the same or different functions multiple times (at least five, but preferably many more).

Use Case: Sometimes it is necessary to replace multiple strings in a dynamic URL.

For example, I need to replace three different characters for Nexis Uni:
    1) Replace + with a space
    2) Replace & with an empty string (effectively removing &s)
    3) Replace : with an empty string (effectively removing :s)

This is what the dynamic URL would look like:
    IF(rft.atitle)
    https://advance.lexis.com/search?pdsearchterms=TITLE%28%22REPLACE(REPLACE(REPLACE({rft.atitle},%3A,""),%26,""),+,"%20")%22%29&pdtypeofsearch=urlapi&pdstartin=snapshot&pdsearchtype=bool&pdmfid=1516831&pdisurlapi=true
    IF(rft.stitle)
    https://advance.lexis.com/search?pdsearchterms=PUBLICATION%28%22REPLACE(REPLACE(REPLACE({rft.atitle},%3A,""),%26,""),+,"%20")%22%29&pdtypeofsearch=urlapi&pdstartin=snapshot&pdsearchtype=bool&pdmfid=1516831&pdisurlapi=true
    IF()
    https://www.nexisuni.com

Currently, if that dynamic URL is entered in Alma, Alma returns an…

  20. Add a date measure to Digital Inventory/Usage Analytics

For Digital Inventory/Usage, we can only see total (cumulative) downloads and views. It would be helpful to have a date measure to see usage over time for digital files.
