  2. Scan-in items to create an Itemized Set

    For many of our workflows, we have a large batch of physical materials upon which we need to perform a bulk action (e.g. place them all on a Work Order or request a Permanent Location change, etc.) The items are on book trucks and there is no Set upon which to Run a Job unless we create a new one every time as a TXT or CSV file, which then has to be uploaded to Alma.   3. Attach multiple courses/sections to a reading list more quickly

    We use a single reading list for many sections of a course, and also reuse these reading lists from semester to semester. Attaching courses to a preexisting reading list is a very slow process which must be done one at a time. I'd love in the reading list courses tab, when you click "Associate Course" and then "Select from List", you were given the option of a checkbox so that many course sections could be added to a reading list at once.

  4. Make notes in task lists of in-process items visible by hovering the mouse pointer over the tick

    Currently in the task list of in-process items there is a green tick in the "notes" column indicating when an item has a note. Unfortunately there is no quick way to see the content of said note except by clicking on the "dots" button and choosing "edit". It would be great if the note were displayed simply by hovering the mouse pointer over the green tick.

  5. Add "Call Number" to the item information box when creating Brief records in reading lists.

    When creating Brief records, a box for call number is missing under Item Information. An extra step is necessary to add it by 'changing item information' in the 'scan in items' function. Brief records are also missing "Replacement Cost". When creating records for personal copies I use:
    Title, Author, Call #, Barcode, Material Type, Collection, Item Policy, Replacement Cost

  6. Add additonal payment information options to circulation desk configuration, ed: Student ID

    Some institutions allow users to pay fees with funds loaded onto their student ID. This should be an available option when configuring payment options.

  7. 'recently viewed patron accounts' option

    Have option for 'recently viewed patron accounts'. Our previous LMS remembered the last five (if I remember correctly) patron accounts recently viewed. This will avoid the frustration of accounts timing out whilst still dealing with the patrons query, for example.

  8. Create formatting for easily readable printing/PDF of Reading Lists and Pick from shelf lists

    Our reserves team would greatly benefit from having a printable or downloadable PDF option of a full reading list. Currently, you can export the list to an excel sheet, but this is not easily readable or convenient for printing/otherwise storing data from past semester's requests. Additionally, it would be excellent if a similar option were available in Pick from Shelf. To pull items now, we need a printed sheet for each book, which is wasteful and redundant.   9. Create a scan in message when a call number is inadvertently changed using change item information

    Add a Scan in message when an items call number has been changed through Scan in items> Change item information, when the call number field has been left blank.

    This could be an optional message enabled through "Scan In Messages Configuration" where you could select either none, pop up message or feedback message.

    It would happen when the call number is empty, and it is being moved to an existing holding with a different call number.

  10. Why no 'last edit' history with operator and date in User Notes?

    We would like to query why there is currently no way to tell who has edited a User Note; rather only the Created By and Creation Date are recorded?
    Are there plans to improve this? Or if not, can this be considered for an enhancement request, in order that Fulfillment staff may add and edit notes and be able to follow the progress of such amendments from the data logged.
    Currently the only way to see a trail of updates is to add freetext in the notes themselves, or else recreate a note each time an update occurs.

  11. Include description column for items checked out by a patron on the patron record

    We check out equipment to patrons such as laptops, cameras, etc. All the parts have the same description number. It would be very helpful when viewing what the patron has checked out not only to see the title, barcode, etc. but also the description number. If we want to know what the description is of an item currently we have to hover over the title to get that information. When downloading the items onto the excel spreadsheet we need a column for the description so that we don't have to make our own column.

  12. Overdue notification blocks - remove automatically when overdue item is returned

    When a patron gets the 3rd overdue notification (after 21 days), we would like the account to be blocked. When the overdue item is returned, we would like the block to be removed.   13. Create the ability to delete or disable individual demerit points from the Demerit tab on the User Details page.

    Currently it’s only possible to disable or delete a demerit block once the demerit threshold has been reached. There are problems with this as when a patron disputes a demerit point the library is unable to disable or delete the point and are instead having to monitor the patron’s demerits and disable or delete the complete block once or if it’s applied. Having the ability to disable or delete individual demerit points would rectify this problem.

  15. Provide controls to prevent expired users from being sent Alma generated emails

    Currently, when it comes to sending emails, Alma does not distinguish between current and expired users. For the weekly statement, this can result in a huge numbers of non-delivery reports (bounce emails) where the expired users' email account has been removed. Because Alma is generating so many failing messages within a short period of time, this can result in further non-delivery reports failing to be delivered.

    Alma should provide controls, preferably fine-grained as well as global, to prevent expired users from being sent emails.

  16. Simplify updating calendar

    Currently, when adding a time to the calendar, users must click both "Apply Changes" and Save. This causes a lot of wasted staff time when they can't figure out why the changes they made were not applied. In the interest of efficiency, please make it so that users only click Apply Changes or Save, but not both.

  17. Include Barcode in Reading List Search Results

    If a user performs a search in Fulfilment > Course Reserves > Reading List > All tab for a course, book titles are listed, and the record shows there are 2 Physical copies. Clicking to see the 2 copies, the barcode number is not displayed.

    By contrast, searching Physical Items, barcode is clearly visible on the results screen by default.

    It would be very, very helpful to have the barcode displayed, in order to distinguish items more clearly. For example, the barcode column could replace the “Accession Number” field that is displayed, or it could be added as a custom…

  18. Change override return date and time default value.

    Hi,

    Hope that there has a way to change the default time that comes up on "Override return date and time" from 00:00 to 23:59?

    Otherwise, it's an extra step for our staff backdating returns.

  19. Add the due date when you scan a book in "scan in items"

    When we scan a book in "scan in items" in our library, it could loan the book to the reader (for the home delivery).

    In those cases, we would like to see the due date immediately rather than have to check in the user's account.

  20. Option for physical item requesting only items that are checked out.

    In Alma, it seems that in the Terms of Use for requesting, you can only choose requestable and non-requestable. Is it possible to have an option to only request items that are checked out?
